If I remember correctly, I've put one point to health so far and everything else to magicka because I keep running out of it constantly (hmh, I may need to rethink my battle tactics...), though I think I have to invest a few more points on the red stuff. :D Edhelas is now on level 5.
I'm still not sure how I did it (luck?), but I made it through Fellglow Keep alive on levels 2 and 3, with no assistance other than Lettie (my trusty Flame Atronach!) and Orthorn, who was useful but died right before we got to the Caller. It took a small eternity, lots of running around, hiding, healing, eating an unhealthy amount of cheese wheels, and chucking down every single potion I had on me, but I did it and got the books Urag wanted. :D This experience has kept my heart racing!
However, instead of heading back to the College right away, Edhelas spent the night in the cleared out keep, studied some new spells and continued his journey to Whiterun after coming to a conclusion that if he wants to survive, he's in desperate need of skilled help. Once in Whiterun, he met and hired Jenassa as his bodyguard, and the duo headed to the Falkreath Hold to hunt down some more mages and another book for Urag, as well as a staff for one of the College's master wizards. Together with Jenassa and Lettie, Edhelas battled his way through Halldir's ghostly lackies and exceeded all expectations by coming out of that cave alive. :D
His next plan is to return to Winterhold, and hopefully make some money on the way - hiring Jenassa left his pockets uncomfortably light -, but first he intends to get some well-earned rest and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of Whiterun.
