Discussion: The Grimoire Challenge

  • September 4, 2018

I knew that they must be scary because I like looking what is underwater and my Altmer has gotten his golden backside bitten on multiple occasions))))

Your fire atronach can help you against spiders and spheres. Also, you can give your follower enchanted weapons for more effect. The thing is, sneak is essential, when you have high-level sneak, you can do anything.

I want to give this another go but SKSE64 hasn't been updated, sure I could play normal Skyrim but my prefered mod set up is on SE... Admittedly I think the only mod I have which needs SKSE64 is SkyUI so I could play without it, I just wouldn't be able to edit the mod settings in game. Also I should probably uninstall Classic Skyrim since I only play SE now.

Anyway, once I've worked that out I will probably play a Breton who specialises in Restoration (mainly the disease spells you can get with Ordinator) and Necromancy.

These scary things you are saying are a part of the reason why I still play classic Skyrim. The other part is that SE probably won't work on my poor laptop that is exactly as old as Skyrim itself.

The problem with SKSE64 is on me since I hadn't set up steam so it wouldn't update the game. What makes it worse is that I've had Fallout 4 set up correctly for months and I just forgot to do it with SE. As I siad I'm fairly sure the only thing that wouldn't work without the script extender would be SkyUI which is not a priority, I just like to be able to turn off killcams without finding the book in Dragonsreach.

If such a thing happened to me I would cry. Most of my mods require SKSE.

A lot of my Classic ones do as well.

Anyway back to the topic of this thread, do you have any thoughts on the Shouts and Mastery rules? I ask since you've been playing this challenge more than me so might have a better suggestion for Vezra.

Killcams are bullshit i almost got killed multiple times due to that just because the Genius casts flames while standing still with a bandit chief in his face.

I'm the worst person to ask about Shouts, since I barely use them, they sort of break your silence, no?))) Though I think the rule of one slot for incomplete shouts and two for complete ones seems sound. Maybe add one extra slot for Shouts once you learn the first one? As for Mastery, two slots do sound more logical than one.

By the way, do staves count into slots? If one has five spells and then five different staves, isn't it like one has 10 spells instead?

For people who want to see dragons in the skies, there is the mod Immediate Dragons.

Well, geez, I may give this a go once I'm done with Fallout.

Yeah for Mastery 1 slot for the school and 1 for Master spells that sound good. For Staffs no they dont count towards slots neither do scrolls.

I think its balanced since you either specialize in it with soul stealer bound weapons or you have to waste a slot on Soul trap. Or buy them. and they lose charges fast in the beginning. Jyrik Staff i believe has like 15 shots in it. Scrolls are mildly rare and are powerfull,

i want people to use the Magical tools. be honest how many Scrolls have you ever used in normal playthroughs. You just horde them or sell them ^^

Im kinda like an expert on Staffs since my main uses them as His primary Weapons ^^ so if you have questions let me know :D
