Discussion: The Grimoire Challenge

  • September 4, 2018

After Kitty and Serana got acquainted, they tried to exit the cave but a very nasty surprise awaited them, a pair of gargoiles. They were badass. Serana fought them like a true Nord and the atronach helped, while Kitty was hiding in a dark corner lest those scary things notice him. His sneak skill leveled up 4 points during that fight. It was a long fight but eventually the gargoiles fell and they could continue on their way, to a cave with coffins that housed draugr and skeletons. Serana killed them all pretty quickly but in the next room were even more skeletons and draugr, among them even a draugr wight lord who annoyed the Oblivion out of them with his Shouts. Serana and the atronach eventually killed him while Kitty was hiding behind a chair. After that they finally found the way out, but it's too early to relax. Ahead is the road to Dawstar and multiple bandits and spiders along it...

I rolled another one because I'm insane. This time it's a Nord named Fafnir. So far he's reached level 9 by cowering in the halls of the college and slowly gaining in knowledge and power. As a Nord magic practitioner, he knows the world outside is dangerous and largely against him, which makes his leary of departing the college grounds.

Sadly he's out of money for new spells. Joining his fellow students in heading to Solstheim sounds like a bore, but it may provide an old enchanted trinket or two he can sell for another magical tome.

Fafnir is rolling pure magicka, with emphasis on Conjuration to keep enemies guessing and dropping the occasional rune spell from hiding. If he lives, I'll aim for eventually getting the Demolitions perk and be able to add 2% power to each rune per point in sneak. I always wanted to play a rune sniper.

@Vargr White-Tree Why not help out the civil war as the Archmage i bet youre Influence could turn the tide of a few Battles. Same with Dawnguard. Why wouldnt Durak try to Recruit someone from the college? He asks you anyway even if youre a Nobody. and Having the Archmage as Israns Advisor sounds nice ^^

Barlowes old Bones hindered him from outrunning a Spriggan near Falkreath. The Spriggan called for 3 wolves and Barlowe met his end :D

I need some time to think of a New Character :D

It is a genuinely interesting way to play the game. Which since it has been out for so long, many people will be looking for new things to do and for some of us this checks that box.

I will probably play a Breton who specialises in Restoration (mainly the disease spells you can get with Ordinator) and Necromancy.

I'm going to expand on this a little bit, if anyone has read my short stories Necromancer and In Both Life and Death, then the character is going to be very similar to the one that appears in them (yes two different names are used, but it's the same character). For those of you that haven't and can't be bothered let me explain. The character has interpreted some of the Arkay's teachings in such a way that means if they get permission from the person then they are free to raise their body, and so raises those who are willing to help them do good like fighting dragons.

Ok my next Character is a Nord who wants to prove to Skyrim that Magic isnt this Scary thing those weird People practice.

"Do you want to blow yourself up? I heard thats what Magic does to you."

Things Like that. He will also try to stop the bad reputation of Necromancy in Skyrim

He focuses on Conjuration an Destruction, his Cantrips are Conjure Familiar and Clairvoyance.

This Archmage will change Skyrims outlook on Magic Forever!
