Sheare hit level 13 today. His Shock spells are formidable and beefy, but I've augmented them with the Restoration Spell Bane Spirit from the Apocalypse mod. It's a slow-moving homing spell that only harms undead, but when it DOES harm undead it does so with a huge bang. I've also snagged an Ordinator perk which allows me to drop three runes at once, so I've taken to trapping doors and other chokepoints with lightning runes. This has been a go-to tactic when dealing with enemy mages, since most spells require line of sight. If I trap a corner with three lightning runes, I know they're going to follow and sustain health and magicka damage in the process. Unfortunately, the fallout from the blast on this tactic nearly cost Sheare's newfound friend, Annekke Grag-Jumper, her life. He reluctantly parted ways with her after escorting her back to her mining camp and is continuing on while looking for a companion more like himself, who engages threats from a distance first.
EDIT: Sheare is now deceased. He was mauled to two deaths by a pack of obnoxiously persistent white wolves and a group of frost spiders as he was returning to Winterhold. I've chosen to continue on with a Dunmer named Lor.

Lor died in the vanilla game intro. Rognir and Lor had just killed the sleeping bear when a Frost Spider appeared from nowhere and ate Lor's face. The chamber full of frost spiders had already been fully cleared. I don't know how it happened. I hate Master mode.
My final shot at this before dropping it due to my game skill level will be a Nord named Aenor the Last.

Aenor the Last was killed by a guard in one strike seconds after he accidentally picked a garlic bulb from a market stall when he meant to talk to the stall keeper.
I think...I think I'm done.

My condolences.
Kitty has reached Whiterun almost safely. Almost because there were lots of spiders along the road which he has avoided earlier on his way to Dimhollow Crypt by taking a path straight to the mountains. The atronach took care of the spiders despite their number (six!) but then, not far from Loreius farm, there was a sabre cat. It attacked so suddenly that Kitty had no time to summon the atronach and had to run for his life all the way to the Honningbrew Meadery where the guards killed the damn thing. And he is still level 10.

I don't fast travel, that may be the thing. Also, there in the open one cannot hide behind a column.
