Discussion: The Grimoire Challenge

Breton Bound Sword does synergise exceptionally with Enchanting; you can be carting around the Bound Weapons Soul Trap perk by level 4 due to the disgusting EXP offered by Bound Sword. It just isn't something I'd pick up for this challenge run in particular - leveling your one-handed skill is (probably) going to bite you in the butt if you make it to the later levels. (It is a big "if" though, and again it's a pretty fun spell.)

If you're daring you can pick up Bound Bow from Fort Amol and use the Atronach Forge to score a staff or spell tome of Frost Atronach, but level 50 is still important for the perk.

I picked up the bound bow from Fort Amol without much effort. In fact, I forgot where exactly it was and ended up clearing the entire fort. It took me a few casts of Fury and a few fire atronachs. I find that clearing dungeons is actually less dangerous than wolves and sabre cats on the roads.

Today was probably the worst day in Kitty's life, he wants home to Elsweyr. It began rather mundanely. He killed the bandits near Btalft witout much effort, a few Fury spells and an atronach were enough, and even the wolves along the way fell pretty quickly. But after he returned to Riften and took another bounty, Oblivion broke loose. In the woods not far from Riften's gate were three spiders and they almost killed Kitty with their venom, he survived only thanks to potions and an atronach that distracted the fuckers. Then he was attacked by a pair of bandits and had to run very fast. As he ran through the woods, a pair of wolves appeared but luckily they noticed the bandits before they noticed Kitty. But that was only the beginning. When Kitty finally arrived to the cave he was supposed to clear, the bandits guarding it suddenly started running towards him. He hid behind a rock near a waterfall and then it became clear that they weren't after him. Out of nowhere, a werewolf appeared on the road and killed them in a heartbit. That he didn't notice Kitty was a true miracle. Then he ran to attack some more people on the road below and Kitty sneaked into the cave...

After this, he leveled up to level 10 and went to join the Dawguard. Entered Dimhollow Crypt and his atronachs killed vampires and death hounds in the first room rather easily. But then the second room is pitch black and scary, so Kitty won't go there, he will go to Whiterun and find himself a follower...

Something tells me that the said follower will soon regret their decision to go with Kitty... though they won't be regretting for long, just until they die...

Apparently my Altmer pissed in someones pool because they sent a band of thugs to teach me a lesson by burtally murdering me in the College's courtyard.  Those guys were brutal I loaded my game and exited the Hall of Attainment ready to head to Saarthal with a few new spells in my Grimoire and these three guys waltz up all "we're here to teach you a lesson" and then dead.

Probably they were friends of those bandits whose horse your guy stole. Or maybe he stole something else too.

Yeah that's my assumption, I can't think of anything else I might of done.

So I went back to the drawing board and decided I needed a panic button something the Altmer was lacking.  So I rolled up a Nord, I figured Battle Cry would have saved me in that situation and there were a few other moments that an ability like that would have been useful, plus the 50% frost resistance is very handy.  I made it all the way to Jyrik's boss room and decided to call it a night.  Used Battle Cry once to save my bacon in Halted Stream Camp causing the Bandit Chief to flee into his own traps, lol.  And the frost resistance made slaying the Ice Wraith in the midden much less nerve wracking.  I went with the same Sparks and Bound Sword as my cantrips.  Basically same strategy as before using Fury on living enemies and then cleaning up who ever is left standing.

Turn Lesser Undead made most of Saarthal a cake walk only the guy before Jyrik was immune so there was a lot of running in circles.  Next up is Jyrik himself.

Fear (which is the equivalent of the Nord battlecry) is indeed a very useful spell. It has saved Kitty's life on numerous occasions as it gives one time to summon an atronach and quickly hide somewhere. It also is helps to gather all the bandits in one place so that you can make them have a lot of fun with fury.

@Justiciar Thorien Damn youre cat must be cursed by a deadra or something to run into so much shit :D The random Werewolf is the best part :D

@Vargr White-Tree Hired Thugs are brutal on low lvl Master.:D I played Imperial for three times now because of Voice of the Emperor. Third one is Larissa Frecee (get it Freeze since shes a Cryomancer :D ) Lvl 13 and just met with the Augur of Dunlain. She'll become an Actual Archmage and not just hold the Title ^^ i never lived in the AM Quarters so thats a reason for it and i never really accepted the job as Archmage ^^. Saarthal is Trivial with Turns lesser undead and i deal with the guy before Jyrik by using the Puzzle room before him, summoning an Atronach and closing the gate. Repeat until dead :D
