So, Kitty is still alive, level 7, reached Riften. Went to Fort Amol, killed some necromancers using Fury and summoning Atronachs and got himself a Bound Bow. Encountered a nasty sabre cat on the road, which almost killed him but his Atronach saved him. Went to Shor's Stone for a little quest and there was a werewolf... everyone fought the beast, Kitty sat quietly in a dark corner. But then he helped to clear a mine of spiders... well, he summoned an Atronach in the mine and waited quietly in a corner. On the way back three wolves almost killed him but he drank a few potions and defeated them.
Now he is in Riften again.

I'm playing with a mod called Passive Racial Abilities so I don't have that abilities anymore, instead I have this:
Redguard
Yokudan Heritage: Melee weapon attacks are 30% faster.
Adrenaline Rush: Stamina regenerates 50% faster.
Hardy Constitution: Resist 80% of poisons.

Indeed)))
I've encountered a dilema while playing Raig, I had entered Embershard Mine from the back entrance and was forced to flee outside to heal. When I was ready to return to the fight I went back into the mine and was killed before I was returned control of the character following the loading screen. Personally I think that is kind of bull, but if it is felt that this death counts I will consider the challenge ended.
As for what Raig has done, well I increased the difficulty up to Master alongside Smilodon and decided to escape the prison in the alternate start mod. He then made his way to riverwood and at level 2 entered Bleakfalls Barrow in search of the golden claw. 2 levels later he had returned the claw and decided to head towards Bruma.

The wrong cave?
I got to the Imperial Checkpoint at the border and couldn't convince them to let me through, so I decided to travel through the Serpent's Trail to get across the boarder. The problem is that I forgot it was called that and so went into the wrong cave and died to a novice frost mage.
