Discussion: The Grimoire Challenge

  • August 28, 2018
I just made I through loud and clear but only by consuming a scroll of mass paralysis for that last Merc in the estate... Which begs the question, are scrolls legit? They are a rare enough consumable that I might treat them as a slotless spell. Plus I do very much like the idea of a Breton alteration mage werewolf tearing though other mages with summons, flesh spells, and magic resistance, so I did join the companions again. Now, how to survive proving honour is the question

Master level with Restoration focus it is.

Are mods legit for this? Because Ordinator would make this crazy.

I'm using Ordinator along with Smilodon so sure why not?

I think I'll use my slots for utility spells like detect life and muffle, and leave my offence to the character's claws which if I play it right should mean that I rarely have to enter combat and when I do whatever I'm fighting wont last long.

I kind of like the idea of Magic items, including scrolls, to be free use. Whenever I play magic characters I always end up with a small mountain of scrolls I end up selling. This will give me a reason to burn through them like I go through gas station gummy bears on the way home from work when I skip lunch.

    Modding is A Ok ^^

    And yes Scrolls are allowed.

Thats kinda part of why i made this, wanting to have scrolls or Artefacts like the Ahzidal Ring to have a use and not just Enchanting the best gear yourself ^^

I tried to do this. My very cowardly kitty likes to sneak and also likes Illusion and Atromancy. His Cantrips are Healing and Candlelight. In Helgen he was hiding behind Ralof's back all along, same on the way to Riverwood where wolves were jumping seemingly out of nowhere. Then he went to Whiterun killing the wolves on the road with Flames, killed bandits near Whiterun using Fury and Firebolt, and cleared Valtheim towers using Calm and Flame Atronach. Met a thief near the bridge across White River, but didn't risk to fight him (those thieves are nasty). Instead he ran from him until the guards saw the thief and killed him, which was hilarious. Now he is on his way to Riften, but for an entirely different reason than Golden Fool's fellow)))

@Justicar Thorien i always hide behind hadvar until i reach Riverwood he is such a Beast :D Thats exactly what i wanted a Big Arsenal of Spells Good Job.I did the same thing with some Bandits posing as Soldiers near Anises Cabin, She smoked all of them single handedly :D

One of my favorite things in Skyrim is creating situations where someone kills my enemies for me. Like Falmer killing a Dwemer Centurion, bandits killing each other, Thalmor killing anything etc., etc. I might even sneakily cast Rally and Healing Hands at the party I favor))

Actually, I think this kitty won't have a lot of spells. Three Illusion spells for total mind control, one Destruction for road emergencies and one summon as his main hit force. Perhaps he'll add a bound bow to his arsenal later on, but I'm still not sure. What I know for certain is that there will be a lot of running and hilariousness)))

tried this challenge and died at the caller with lvl 10. I hired a soldier to help me but let them wait 2 rooms in the back and forgot about him so it's my fault >.<

also i tried this with a bunch of survival-like mods and alternate start mod, which spawns me in winterhold with just a robe and some start spells. it felt like a prison because it was so scary to go outside i sneaked the entire way to Windhelm xD. I already created a new character it will be the same as before an sneaky Illusion-Restoration mage with bound bow :D

also i use an rng generator to pick 3 Numbers from 1-10 the numbers will tell me which race im allowed to choose. lets say i got 2-6-10 then im allowed to choose breton, imperial and wood elf (counting from above in the creation menü) i just done this for fun (and because i make to much bretons xD)

    btw cool challenge :v
