Mind you I did use only one Witbane, but if you REALLY want to have the EXTRA Magicka from the Ring, get the second Witbane. Theoritically, you will not regen Magicka but you will have 100+ Magicka on top of the Atronach.

The 0% magicka regen from the true atronach is activated by a combination of both versions of witbane and the Atronach Stone. When you only have one version of witbane and the atronach you hit the cap for reduced magicka regen so despite the atronach and witbane giving your -50% regen each, you only have about -80% or something similar. However when the 3rd -50% (second witbane) is added something bugs out and so even when you equip items with fortify magicka regen effects you still do not regenerate magicka.

Since we were testing to see how the ring would effect the True Atronach, I had all 3 effects when I equiped the ring. Even with the resulting 0% regen from the 3 effects, once I equiped the ring I started regenerating magicka and the moment I un-equiped it I stopped.

Hmm.. Honestly, I didn't know that there was a cap for reduced Magicka regen. Hmm... Fair... Still makes me wonder how Lis was able to nulify the Abosrb Summon bug.. Any ideas? Unless she/he used either a mod or an Unofficial Patch, I have no idea.

Oh I play with a patched game, Lee. Summons are fixed. But, I noticed a funky bug in that respect too.

Like the patch fixed summons you summon on your own, but staff summons didn't always work. Now, that was messed up. Cause you're out of magicka because of the true atronach, and then just when you think you're safe, the staff fails to summon. Gameplay for Urag has been pretty exciting. I switched him to True atronach between level 15 and 20.

Ah, apologies. That definetly makes alot of sense. Hmm... I believe it might be a bug? XD. A Patch having a bug, which requires a Patch to repair the Patch to fix the bug :P.

And this has been the essence of the silliness that is this build and part of the reason why I'll be extremely happy to continue him once I finish with Henantier.

If Urag was Vanilla, however, yes, he'd have failed summons 80% of the time with his projected spell absorbtion, however, he'd also have a way to get magicka back as the absorbed summons base magicka reflects back on him. I've often used failed summons as a way to replenish magicka before. It would also tie into his roleplay.

Hmm... It would work quite well actually as, say you are casting a Summon Spell that costs 100 base Magicka, take off half from (lets say it is an expert spell), half off it, which makes it 50 Magicka, then take off another 25% which takes it to 25 Magicka. If it fails you gain an extra 75 Magicka, (if it fails the first time), meaning you essentially have unlimited Magicka. However, I believe it will only work if you have 25 Magicka in order to cast the Spell.

So yeah, it would work rather well. Even makes the build more interesting as you could Roleplay Urag, trying to concentrate but losing concentration due to old age ? (first thing that came to my head but you get the idea... I hope).

Yeah, it leads to two possible branches in roleplay and usually I address patched versus unpatched games if it makes a significant different, which it does here. So glad, by the way, that you've take such interest in this build. It's been great bumping ideas past you and Goldie. :D Makes me eager to return to him. He's at level 26 now.

True, true. Ah good, can't wait t see more of this build. Espically the Backstory. Too bad there is no way for Spells to fail, as you could also RP that as Urag losing concentration due to either old age (forgetting how to cast certain spells) to being easily distracted when/if someone damages a book that belongs to the Arcanum.

This build is somewhat based on my reimagination of Urag based on his dialogue and how I portray him in Straag Rod and how Karver portrays him in Practice of Magic, so he may not be as scatter-brained as you may think. Very much a character who can do a lot of damage despite some serious limitations. It's what you do with what you got that pays off in the end. The sort of quiet power that lets a flashier mage take the star role while he lurks in his dusty, book-laden corner.
