To my recollection, food does not restore HP,  unless you're well fed.

as for being bored - I get it...sort of. SM requires a lot of patience. The "thrilling" part is knowing you're always one mistake from death. But since death often requires replaying large chunks...it can get monotonous or tiresome.

To be honest, once I finished it and got to Far Harbor...I have little interest in running through SM anytime soon.

I'm working on a new build without taking SM into account.

I'll test it again tonight, to be sure.

Honestly, the replaying large chunks part doesn't bother me. That's part of the apeal of SM; you have to get it right. I had to replay Dunwich Bores because I got too arrogant, and did the Museum of Witchcraft and Lynn Woods without resting. And then the grenade bounces off the deathclaw, and back at me. My own stupidity, my own fault. And so long as the replay is just as challenging, I don't mind a bit.

It's the lack of fast travel combined with the low refresh rate of enemies. I can walk from Diamond City to Sanctuary Hills without ever having to be worried. I loved being in the area around Trinity Tower, cowering in the shadows, using the sound of gunfire direct me away from danger. Now I run through the ruins, hoping for some Rust Devils to pop up and break the monotony.

I hear that. I didn't start out able to get local leader, so I've been running back and forth between settlements a bunch. It gets boring. I do find myself wandering and forgetting what I was supposed to be doing out of curiosity more, I stick to the plan when I can fast travel. It's double edged though. It's cool because you see and do things in the game you usually wouldn't. However usually those things are potential ways to die, and if you were trying to get something accomplished now you're back to your last save and lost time. I guess the key is not dying? I still do that a lot though

never got a chance to test it. my stealth is pretty high, so it's rare I get hit.

I might have to jump off a high building to take some injury to test it out.

You do more damage in survival, not less. Either that or health totals are lower.

Before the patch you'd do less damage like with hard and very hard. Now after the patch everything does more damage, which includes you and everything else in the world.

That's a good way to put. I'll reword it. And I hadn't noted anything about adrenaline. Because I was too chicken to not sleep all the time :)
