I think James said that the ring of the erudite doesn't respond to fortify restoration so i don't think this is a runner I'm afraid.

I wasn't around when Mason posted that build so I couldn't work on this then but as soon as I read the build last week I immediately told Teccam I was going to play around with this and post a discussion about it.

As shallow as it sounds I was hoping nobody was looking into this because if my first hunch was correct (it was) then I was going to be posting a new 'Argument' discussion that was going to be a complete game changer.  Now that this discussion got me looking into things a week earlier than planned I'm finding some interesting things out!

I'm still not ready to post everything because I don't understand a few things yet.  I don't want to seem like I'm stealing anyone's work so I don't know if I should make a new discussion as I planned or just post it here.  There are some EXTREMELY interesting things that I don't know if anyone here has realized so I don't want to spoil the fun just yet!

Playing with this glitch is so much fun!

I'd just start a new one but maybe link this thread for the credit and hard work these guys have done. Can't wait ta hear the mechanic of it all and what's really goin on here.

You're right, he did say that. I wonder if it's tied to a different school? I guess not, or James probably would've mentioned that. He's pretty thorough.

I'm with Al. Given what you've told me about your findings, I'd say there's more than enough new info to merit a new discussion.

Can't hurt for us to keep discussing the effect in this thread while you try to nail down those pieces of the puzzle that are giving you trouble. Also, like Al said, it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a link back to Parabola's thread when you post yours.

Yeah no worries at all about starting a new thread. This has been mostly fumbling around in the dark! I look forward to getting some answers to all the confusion. :)

Whenever I can I always try to provide 'Additional Reading' links for my discussions.  The last thing I'd ever want to do is make someone angry for taking their findings.  I sent Parabola a PM talking about some of the things I've been working on, hopefully it's a fun read!

The main thing I don't undertand is why x.4 works until a certain point then stops, meanwhile Vaz says x.8 works after a certain point which seems to be around when x.4 stops.  There's something else in the Attribute calculation that is being applied that I don't know about.  Can't find a damn thing about this anywhere else so I'm sort of at a loss right now.  I just know it works and when you fully apply this glitch it's ridiculous!

This discussion and comment section further my theory that I absolutely suck at math. Give me complex character development and symbolism and I can follow those just fine. But give me a math equation with two sets of parentheses and I'm lost.

Parabola suggested it may have to do with binary values. 0.4 seems to start working at 128.4, and 0.8 starts working at 256.8. Maybe the way to test this further would be trying with x.2 below 128:

    player.modav Magicka 12.2

That would take total Magicka to 112.20. If we can get endless concentration casting with that setup, it'd be one more point in favor of the binary scaling. I don't know much of anything about programming, so I couldn't begin to postulate about what would cause the binary values to come into play -- let alone why this whole damn thing happens in the first place.

But with a few quick samples of modav between 0.2 and 27.2, we may be able to get a better gauge on it.

A very fun read indeed! Can't wait for the new discussion. The mechanics of this are still a bit of a mystery. We have to be more or less on the right track but this may be something we can't fully explain.
