Any reason for keeping Apollo saddled up with heavy armor? I always envisioned him as a fairly nimble and agile deity. It seems like elven or guilded elven armor would fit the aesthetic better than any heavy armor you can get without resorting to mods. Seems a bit tanky for the god of archery, and since there aren't any close quarter melee skills, why not keep him agile? Besides, with a follower running interference, that ups your survivabily significantly. Why not have him running and gunning, taking shots on the fly while circling and straffing, protecting your follower while your follower wades in?

Just a thought. One way or another, as a fellow fan of mythology I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up :D

Sword and board fits for Athena, btw. She often carries the aegis with her, plus the darned thing just makes good strategic sense.

Crud! I'm in the same boat as GailOlm--stupid cell phone takes me forever and a day to respond to anything xD

Well my line of thinking was that I thought the Aetherial Crown would work well with Apollo, and that I would use the Steed Stone as one of the stones, upon further thought I guess that really doesn't make any role play sense, lol. In which case I might just do Gilded Elven armor like you said, definitely fits the aethethic better. Now the question is what stones do I use? I guess for now I'll just say the Lord and Lady!

The good news is there are 3 bows that really fit the theme for the build, Bow of the Stag, Auriel's, and Zephyr will all be great for this build.

Definitely gonna stick with Sword and Board for Athena, just need to come up with something that makes her feel *different* from regular sword and board. Is there anything in the game I can use to represent a certain "brilliance" in military strategy of some kind? Seeing as how she represented the strategy of war and Ares represented the Violence...Well anyways, that's my next goal to come up with for her.

And thank you so much for the Stendarr's Aura suggest! I completely forgot about that, guess I'll be doing Dawnguard first after I get Dragons in the Air, my Champion, and the Bow of the Stag!

I gotta go get some stuff done but I can't wait to get home so I can really get started on testing this build out you guys are great!

Ares might be the one to put in Ebony Armor or, at higher levels, Daedric Armor. Depending on his skillset and how dark you want to go with him, the Ebony Mail might be a good fit also with it's poison smoke effect and with making the wearer appear shadowy.

How about Dragonbane? A sword that can defeat the most dangerous foe around with ease sounds quite strategic to me.

Or maybe you could dive into the Alchemy tree a bit. Using Slow and Drain Stamina poisons to get the edge over enemies, and using poisons with positive effects on your allies to 'inspire them' or roleplay that they're 'fighting tacticaly'. And you can also use Invisibility potions to scout out a battlefield and buffing potions to roleplay having prepared specifically for the battle or something like that. I feel like Athena and strategy should be excelling before a battle, where as Ares and brute strength should be excelling in a battle.

Ooh! and there's always Ysgramor's Shield to give her a more regal appearance, and the enchantment isn't hald bad either.

It's a bit of a predicament, Athena and Ares covering very similar topics, but theres a way to make Ares really different - I'm talkin' lycanthropy!

Imagine a hulking mass, wreathed in flame and howling terrifying - thats the epitome of terror and violence that Ares represents. And in doing that, you can also make him an Orc, who probably have the best racial ability, skill bonuses and general bad assery associated with Ares. But Nords also work with their racial power.

Also on Zeus... I like the idea of him using Two Handed weapons givin that javelins aren't available, so Ysgramor's Axe might work, you could even fit in some roleplay of Ysgramor being Zeus, and the 300 are actually the Olympians (but lets focus on game mechanics for now, roleplay is a deeeeep rabbit hole).

But if I had to recommend something to replicate his lightning bolt, a shock enchanted crossbow with shock exploding bolts might be a good fit if you don't want to completely commit to the magic route. Or theres staffs (or staves, whatever they're called), which definitely look the most lightning bolty.

Hades seems the most straightforward - hes basically gonna be Henson's Necromancer, which is fine, its the roleplay that'll make these builds anyway. Have you thought about trying to get Cerberus into Skyrim? I'm sure theres a mod to be able o let your follower change into a werewolf, if so then having a Companion is the way to go, but if not... maybe I'm just in a werewolf mood, but it could work. And theres also a werewolf howl that summons two other werewolves - now you have three heads, I'm telling you its perfect!

Okay, to Zonnonn and GailOlm, Shinjin, and Blacklight:

For Athena: I'm all for going into Alchemy and using Poisons, that's a great idea. In that case should I forgoe Smithing or Enchanting? Or do all 3? That could be tiresome to have all 3 crafting skills. If I'm going Dragonbane+Ysgramor's shield I probably don't need enchanting. But Athena should have amazing encanted armour and finding Imperial Armor with the right Enchants could prove difficult? That and Dragonbane and Ysgramor's shield are both obtained kinda late in their questlines. I don't mind that though.

So we're looking 1h, Block, Alchemy, Enchanting/Smithing, Restoration? Should probably look into some Powers that would be good for her too.

    Race: Imperial

Stone: ?????????? and ??????????? (Damn it, the Aetherial Crown fits Greek Mythology builds WAY to well, nearly every build could end up using it)

    Powers/Shouts ?????????

Stat Distribution 150-200 Magicka, rest in Health/Stamina

    Race:

For Ares: I like the Wearwolf idea, I've never done a Werewolf Build so I'm open to that, I was thinking it could be good for Hades actually, but we could do both. For Ares, at least in my class, I learned that, while he was very violent, he was also very devious. So I was thinking to differentiate from Athena a few things:

    1) Illusion Magic, especially Frenzy magic (Fear too), inciting other people to get violent seems right up his alley. I don't know a lot about the higher level illusion spells but hopefully there's something there too.

    2) Dual Wield, seems like a more violent parallel to Sword and Board for Athena.

    3) Ebony Armor (Including Ebony Mail) > Daedric Armor for me. I know Ares is more dark/"evil", but I feel like, as a god, he would still have a more refined look to him. Daedric is too rough and Jagged for Ares IMO, Ebony is perfect

1h+Illusion+Smithing+Encanting+What else might fit here? Restoration for healing purposes? Speech? Archery for an Explosive Crossbow at range? Vampire with Necromage? I like him as an Orc though so maybe not being Dunmer would hurt...

Race: Orc or Imperial (Parallel to Athena)

    Stone: ????????????

    Powers/Shouts: ??????

For Zeus: I like going 2 Handed, you can Enchant Wuuthrad so we can enchant Wuuthrad with some Lightning as well. I like assuming the mantle of Ysgramor a somewhat as well. Robes on Zeus for sure so Alteration is needed. I also want to get my shout cooldown as low as possible, Zeus should be able to spam shouts or close to it (Storm Call and Unrelenting Force especially). And I had another idea of also having a "Champion" for Zeus as well, not only that, I was thinking levelling Smithing and Enchanting so I can make "Gifts" to give to my Champions, it would fit the Roleplay IMO. It doesn't have to be perked very far, just to Steel or Dwarven, and it can be awesome give badass "Gifts" to your follower so they put in work. I like being very Magic Heavy with this idea so I don't think I'll need a Bow or anything like that, Just lightning spells, Shout Spam, storm atronachs, Wuuthrad, and a badass follower! Also the Aetherial Crown fits really well here as well, Atronach+Apprentice? (Can you still invest points in magicka and achieve ultimate atronach status?

2h+Alteration+Destruction+Conjuration+Smithing+Enchanting+Restoration. If we want we could Legendary Enchanting/Smithing after we've created all of our gifts that way we can keep this build's level curve decent and maybe go into Speech or Quick Reflexes.

Race: Nord fits the Look, does it fit the Gameplay? What other options could there be? Yeah Probably Nord.

Stone: Atronach+Apprentice or Lord+Lady or maybe even a Ritual Stone.

Shouts: Storm Call, Become Ethereal, Bend Will, ????????

    Stat Spread: ?????????????

After writing it out I'm really liking the sound of that build. All the awesomeness of an Electromancer, with Shout Spam, Gift Giving, and a Giant Godly Axe to make you really feel like a god! Now the question is what

For Hades: I like the sound of what the Necromancer is, maybe add in a little werewolf action to represent Cerberus. I need to put more thought into him.

    And then For Apollo finally:

Archery, Restoration, Destruction (Fire), Light Armour, Speech, Enchanting?, Illusion?

Enchanted Guilded Elven Armour, Aetherial Crown, Amulet of Talos.

Lady or Lord stone or Serpent Stone (Feels right with Hunting Vibe).

Bow of the Stag/Auriel’s Bow/Zephyr, Fire Spells, Stendarr's Aura, Courage spells possibly.

Shouts: Battle Fury, Become Ethereal, Bend Will, Fire Breath, Kyne’s Peace, Animal Allegiance

    Have a follower (Champion)

Hunt Dragons, Hunt Animals, Bard College, Main Questline, Dragonborn, Daedric Quests, Dawnguard (Hunt Vampires), Civil War.

CIVIL WAR SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR EVERY BUILD AS WE'RE GONNA GO ILIAD UP IN HERE, GODS LOVE TO MEDDLE.

So it feels like we got some solid foundations as far as builds gameplay wise, could always use your input here, I'm fond of all of them on paper so far, Zeus especially seems great and unique, but so does Apollo, and even Athena/Ares as well.

Now to figure out what Quests we should target, and I also wanna figure out what you'd do in the early game with each build as you're getting them started (Both from a RP and a Gameplay standpoint).

Gah this has me pretty pumped, I don't even know which one I wanna start out with (Torn between Zeus and Apollo), Zeus I like the build more gameplay wise I'm not sure where I'd go questwise/RP wise, especially to start, compared to Apollo who I have a pretty good idea about what Quests he'd do and where he'd go. Look forward to hearing your thoughts guys!

I don't know much about Greek mythology and I'm not a builder here on the Vault (I just read the builds), but I love playing Skyrim!

My Skyrim character is a Master of Illusion with a fully perked Illusion tree. Higher level Illusion spells such as Mayhem and Pacify can be quite powerful. I've used both of them successfully on Draugr Deathlords when playing on Master level and on lower level Dwarven automatons when playing on Expert (I haven't tried it on them since I bumped up to Master). Mayhem did not work on Forsworn Briarhearts at Adept level, rather I got the message that "Forsworn Briarheart is too powerful for Mayhem," though it does work on the Hagravens that may be with the Briarhearts and in that way can be effective.

Some disadvantages of the Master Illusion spells is that they take both hands to cast, require a considerable amount of magicka, and can take awhile to cast. To offset the high magicka cost, I wear Master Robes of Illusion along with some other enchanted pieces to reduce the cost of Illusion spells. To allow for the long casting time, while in sneak mode I cast Muffle and Invisibility then cast Mayhem or Pacify then quickly cast Invisibility again. Invisibility is pretty OP (almost game breaking with a maxed sneak level and the Muffled Movement perk, even when playing on Master level).

It's worth noting that the Necromage perk (level 70) in the Restoration school of magic will increase the effectiveness of spells against the undead, including Illusion spells. I can't comment on it's effectiveness because I haven't done this yet (my Restoration is only 45) but plan to do so when I reach that level.
