    Thanks people, much appreciated!

Hey guys, so I've been trying to get some work done on my first build, I just finished an elective course in Greek Mythology and got some inspiration to make a build inspired from that

I have some ideas, like, say, Apollo - Would be Archery, Restoration, Speech, Fire Magic, and I guess light armour/Enchanting, Aetherial Crown maybe as well? I don't know But I'm not really sure where I'd go as far as standing stones, quest lines, shouts, Armour/Weapons (I'm not familiar enough at all with a lot of the unique weapons and armour in the game, especially those added in the DLC. And more importantly I'm looking for some unique gameplay mechanics that I could use to really add some flavour to the builds. It could be glitches I don't mind that at all, but really just something to add some spice to it. I'm on PS4 so what Mods I can use are limited.

Apollo is the one I've put the most thought into, He's an Archer, a Bard (Speech, I have a mod that makes the speech tree a bit more useful for combat, simple stuff though it just adds a couple different powers like stronger shouts and also some stuff built around the Bow of the Stag), Restoration, Fire Magic, Enchantment, and then one of Heavy Armour (Godly Armour), Illusion (Courage Spells, for a champion/follower as the gods would often pick Champions), or Alchemy (I just like Alchemy and it offers a good way to start a new game IMO). Also I'd use the Aetherial Crown.

    Apollo

Archery, Restoration, Destruction (Fire), Heavy Armour, Speech, Enchanting, Illusion?, Alchemy(?)

Enchanted Ebony Armour, Aetherial Crown, Amulet of Talos.

    Steed Stone+Lady or Lord stone

Bow of the Stag/Auriel’s Bow, Fire Spells, Courage spells possibly.

Shouts: Battle Fury, Become Ethereal, Bend Will, Dragon Aspect, Fire Breath, Kyne’s Peace, Animal Allegiance

    Have a follower (Champion)

Hunt Dragons, Hunt Animals, Bard College, Main Questline, Dragonborn, Daedric Quests, Dawnguard (Hunt Vampires).

Now I'm not sure how I'd want to start my playthrough, or what Follower I should use for a Champion, or how I should RP coming across said champion. Anyone have any ideas for that? Especially a follower, any critiques? Any additional Mechanics I could be using to spice it up? Also not 100% sure on what Stat Spread I wanna go for.

There are some obvious other ideas that I have but I'm not sure how I'd make them "Stand Out" from their regular archetype:

Athena - Sword + Friggin OP shield (Could be a unique shield or an enchanted one, 1H, Blocking, Light or Heavy Armor (Glass?), Restoration, Alteration, Alchemy or Enchanting? I'm not sure what to do to make her unique from a standard Sword and Board Character. She's the god of Military Strategy so maybe something to represent that?

Zeus - Destruction Magic (Lightning), Conjuration (Storm Atronach), 1h or 2h (Mace or Warhammer) OR Blocking with a shield, Alteration, wear Robes, Restoration, Enchanting? Make shout cooldown low so I can spam Storm Call as needed, what do I do to differentiate this from a typical Electromancer?

Hades - Necromancy, Fire Magic, Invisibility (He had a hat that made you invisible)? What kind of Armor, Ebony? Again I'm not sure how to make it quite unique, Aetherial Crown with Shadow Stone+Ritual stone could be interesting, but that's just one thing. Would it be fun to play?

These are just some examples, I haven't even thought about Demigods like Hercules or Perseus yet, nor have I put thought into roleplay (Heavy focus on Daedric Quests, DLC lines and Main Quest, I guess.)

I know it's a lot but any and all critique/help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Also, if you know of any good Greek Mythology related builds on this site, if you could direct me to them I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

First off I luuuuv Greek mythology, so I'm definitely looking forward to this!

For Apollo's armour I'm not sure if Ebony Armour is the way to go, it feels a little dark and bulky for the god of the sun. Ancient Falmer could work but its not really that warm looking, for that I'd either go Bonemold or Dwarven.

As for a follower, I'd be tempted to suggest trying to remake Asclepius, his son. He's typically portrayed as a beardy bloke, but anyone with healing capabilities would fit, as medicine and poetry are also considered his areas.

The whole sun thing could also lead to some interesting roleplay. For example, maybe the character has to be able to see the sun every time it rises (which means no all night dungeons), or he loses fire magic for a day.

The other stuff is quite extensive, so I don't have time to answer it now. But I'd recommend diving into more obscure legends and aspects of gods to differentiate them from a typical archetype (like Electromaner and Zeus as you said).

Have you thought about making this into a massive build with each god being a different section, like the Champions of the Daedra build?

Oh, and if you want any more help, please PM me, I've wanted to do something like this for years but I'm not a builder so I couldn't bring it all together. I love roleplay though, so I should be able to help bring the gods and goddesses to life if you want!

I love Greek Mythology. I was planning to do a build based on either Artemis or Hades. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

If you have any questions about Mythology (which I doubt you will, since you've just done a course) feel free do send me a PM - I've been studying mythology for three years :)

Hmmm, you're probably right about the Ebony Armor being too Dark thing, I forgot ancient Falmer Armor existed (I'm not too familar with everything the DLCs added). I just did a playthrough of Mason's "Bronze Sentinel" so I wasn't sure how I felt about Dwarven Armour (Although it does have a completely different look without the helmet, of course. I've never used Bonemold either so that could be interesting. I really wish there was more Aedric themed armour in this game!

Anything that has a good set of unique/enchanted armor within the game without needing to be crafted would be awesome as well, because then I could enchanting out of the build and either cut the level down (Looking at level 60 right now) or add in Alchemy (Again it just makes the early game much nicer with Ingredient hunting as you level combat skills, and poisons I feel would fit with the Hunting theme that I want to go for).

I have a guy in mind who could fit that Asclepius role, I think there was a Spell Sword for hire somewhere in Solitude (Which fits nice as I want to get the Steed Stone early).

I'll definitely have to do some diving into more obscure legends like you say (Definitely always open to suggestions here! I've only take this one course on Greek Mythology and it's been condensed into a 1.5 month span so I don't know too much like I'm sure you guys do!), the other hang up there is I'm not sure I know enough unique game mechanics (Especially with the DLC) to achieve some of these things so anywhere I could look into that stuff as well would be mint!

I'd love to do a larger build like that, covering multiple gods! (But I wonder if it'd be better to approach it as a "Series" of builds instead so I can give each one proper focus). That's a huge task though so I'll definitely need help and I'll be sure to send you a PM about that!.

Fantastic! I'm sure you know more about Greek Mythology than me, as I mentioned I've only took 1 course so I pretty much know the basics at this point. I'd love to collaborate/Brainstorm together what we've been thinking, Hades especially I've had some ideas for, I'm just not sure how it'd translate gameplay wise just yet.

Athena is one that I really want to get a good going on too, just feel like I'm not sure where to go after sword and board with badass enchantments. Only been thinking on this a couple days though so maybe something will come to me!

Does it make sense for a knight of the Empire to use the Shield of Solitude? I mean it is Nordic but it also represents both the capital of Skyrim and the capital of the Empire in Skyrim.

For Apollo armor-wise I would probably go with Elven Armor, Boots, Gauntlets, and a Gold and Sapphire circlet. I'd use Zephyr for the weapon, and race-wise perhaps Imperial?

Athena - Full set of Imperial Heavy Armor (enchanted). An longsword or perhaps a mace. And, of course, for Aegis, her shield, I would probably use an Elven / Dwarven shield enchanted with Resist Magic & Fortify Health. Probably would use a Breton or a Nord for race. Breton + Resist Magic Shield = Near Immunity to Magic

As for the collab idea, I would love to take you up on that at some point. I have a few ideas for Greek-based builds :D

I would say it makes perfect sense. It is the Capital of the Empire in Skyrim (as you said), after all. If it was a Windhelm shield, it wouldn't work, but Solitude Shield should be perfect.

Another option for armor might be Elven Armor or Elven Gilded Armor (the gilded having a higher armor rating), which of course is golden like the sun. Unlike the Elven Light Armor, both of the chestpieces of the Elven Armor and Elven Gilded Armor have ornate pauldrons and decorative swirls that extend onto the front of the chestpiece. The patterns on the pauldrons and front of the chestpiece as well as the decorative patterns on the boots and gauntlets could be viewed as being reminiscient of the rays of the sun. The golden color of the armor would complement the golden color of the Aetherial Crown.

Edit ~ I must have been typing this about the same time as Blacklight was typing. It just took me longer to type.  :)

Since you'll be using Restoration spells, two sun/light themed spells added by the Dawnguard DLC are Sun Fire and Stendarr's Aura which may fit into the god of the sun theme:

    Sun Fire

    Stendarr's Aura

Stendarr's Aura is particularly intriguing because it surrounds the caster in an aura of light.
