I found regular automatics to kinda suck in survival, except if a ghoul horde is running at you. The Spray and Pray gun is perfectly viable if you want an automatic weapon, though. I was able to stop a few charging super mutants at the water purification plant with that gun. I would imagine other legendary types being useful too, one that cripples limbs in particular would be awesome, shoot out the legs and they never reach you

Explosive is also very useful. Staggers and cripples.

I have finally managed to get the caps together for the Overseers Guardian. It's changed the situation considerably. It can dish out some serious damage compared to the modded combat rifle I was using.

It's a shame Deliverer is not able to be turned into an auto pistol. I think adding points to Gunslinger wouldn't feel right in this build.

Just dinged level 20, so I'll see how the next 10 levels treat me.

Yeah, those unique/legendary weapons really pay dividends. If you want to do any kind of face to face fighting in survival you need some kind of edge. Sometimes I like to go melee, and I use Big Jim with the mod to potentially disarm. You just have to hang in there long enough and your opponent will either be crippled or lose their weapon within a few swings, and you can actually win

I can see Shadowed combat armor, Road Leathers, A postman hat and some shades look a bit like something an Officer would wear.

for my survival run, I went stealth commando too, but I ran with the Spray n Pray.

As it comes with a silencer, it gets all of the benefits of Mr. Sandman, and Ninja. Even without the companion perk from Deacon, I was getting a x4.5 stealth modifier, x2 Demolitions Expert, x2 Commando.

I shredded a Legendary Deathclaw Matriarch with an eleven round burst.

The vault 81 security helmets look pretty SWAT-ish.

    Swatish?

    Swatlike?

not sure how to say that.
