I'm reading the article you gave me a link to (about Amaranth etc.), and it seems like I begin to understand something)) If I succeed in placing things into a system, I'll try and share it))

Been thinking a little bit about the Shezzarine thing, Phil.

I would like to believe that Champion of Cyrodiil definitely is Shezzarine. It would make sense. I mean, Martin is Dragonborn and Dragonborn are known for allying themselves with Shezzarines. Allessia and Pelinal (if we can believe that), Talos and Wulfharth.

And I would like to point out something Mankar Camoran says, though we know he´s full of crap.

In your coming, I hear the footsteps of Fate. You are the last defender of decadent Tamriel. I am the midwife of the Mythic Dawn, Tamriel Reborn. I welcome you, if you truly are the agent of Fate.

I have waited a long time for you, Champion of Old Tamriel. You are the last gasp of a dying age. You breathe the stale air of false hope.

That sounds to me like calling the Champion "the champion of Lorkhan" but that could be just me.

Could well be, but lol, are there multiple Shezzies around at the same time? Like what if TLD was an old fart?

I think there have been, so much lore coursing through brain at once, but I think you can haves more than one Shezzarine running about.

I love Mr. Camoran. That he's Terrance Stamp helps a lot with the love.

The thing about the player character being a Shezarrine could be an oversimplification of a heavy topic. Have you encountered the ideas on the role of the Prisoner when seen through the mythic lens?

If we think that The Warrior guards the Tower from the Thief who takes the Tower, the Prisoner is important because he is inside the Tower. He is the Thief, the Rebel with a huge advantage. If we then take that and look at your Manky C dialogue:

But if a god can die, how does his heart survive? He is daedroth! TAMRIEL AE DAEDROTH! "This Heart is the heart of the world, for one was made to satisfy the other." You all remember this. It is in every legend.

Lorkahn, unlike any other god or demon, could be said to be "inside the Tower." I'm not sure Mankar is aware of the PC's role exactly, but he certainly does ascribe to you the titles of Champion and Cat's Paw as you point out.

I have a feeling that to be "an agent of fate" one doesn't have to be a Shezzarine, hough I have no reason to think that the CoC can't be one, he probably can (unless there are any additional information indicating that he isn't). Another question is whether there are any other signs that he is a Shezzarine?

I don't believe there can be more than one at a time (I've already told why) though.

Exactly. One of the reasons why I still think the PC is not a Shezzarine, is that Lorkhan kinda has his own story, and this story (the game) is your story. You are an observer as well as the participant. Your view of the world is not what a Shezzarine's would be. What we see of Shezzarines like Wulfhart and Pelinal makes me think so. They tend to know exactly where is their place in the picture, thus they don't need to be observers. That the PC walks the path that a Shezzarine once did still doesn't make him one.

Another thing is that in a way every single inhabitant of Mundus is a prisoner, Lorkhan is unique in that only because he is a god (the only god who is a mortal).

Let's finish the prison thought for argument's sake because you only state one side.

Others, while accepting that Nirn is a cruel place full of mental anguish, think that Lorkhan created the world as the testing ground for transcendence; to them the spirit realm was already a prison, and true escape is now finally possible.

I don't state any side) I never said Nirn is the prison) The testing ground makes much more sence actually.

I'm saying that everyone is in the cave, with few exceptions) No one stops them from exiting, but it's hard to do, of course. Lorkhan hasn't been outside of the cave either, but he at least seems to know he is in it.

That, some believe, is the importance of Lorkhan for he failed and trapped himself so that they may succeed. Which was the point Lissette was making: The Altmer see a prison and loathe him for it, the Dunmer see the Psijic Endeavor and praise him for it.

That divide between the races is the fundamental story that goes right back to the Monomyth.

Yes, I've read about that. I just was trying to find words to explain why I think the PC is not Lorkhan. As for the Altmer, it's easy to understand why they hate Lorkhan, but there's no point in hating really, it is done already and it was destined. So Lissette is totally right. The Altmer are in the cave just like everyone else) They are right only in one thing: they want to exit.
