    Gollum, you can marry NPCs from either gender in TES V. Is that not proof enough? Perhaps we should ask Ulfric. A young, single jarl should be able to answer the question, were he not too busy spending time asking his steward for "war advice" 

    Seriously, though, this may amuse:LMA: Courting Practices in Tamriel. You may need to pay attention to the sexes of the letter writers.

    Okay, I know that in the Elder Scroll games the race of a mix race child is always based on the mother, like I know if a Female Imperial married and had a child with a Male Nord then the child will be a Imperial with some Nord traits. My question is would the child take the mother's surname or the father's surname, and what naming conventions would they use, because all of the races have different naming conventions. This question is to help me with a upcoming build.
