Excellent insight dude! I was thinking about your build event see. The thought occurred that a Khjiit Knight sent by the Mane to Leyawin in an attempt to understand report on the Renrijra Krin's activities would make a good plot hook and backstory as Leyawin land was ceded by the Mane to the Empire and the Krin ain't happy.

Then the knight can be a bit more.. Khajiit... about it and use a bit of stealth as is their nature while at the same time enjoying the more knightly pursuits with your Mazoga.

No problem. That sounds interesting. Khajiit Knight.

We could use the PoE knight description here.

pledged themselves to a god, a ruler, a chosen cause or even a way of life

I don´t doubt that your Khajiit could qualify for at least two of these "rules".

But you started really good topic, Phil. If we go with Morrowind´s description of knights which is: knights are civilized warriors, schooled in letters and courtesy, governed by the codes of chivalry

It makes me wonder how Khajiit Noble looks like. What is considered to be civilized in Elsweyr? Oh man, it makes my head spin.

    and back to that Legion...

I think it is that way. The Empire uses the word Legion for their armies, with their own rank structure. I might only guess, but High Rock can use Battalions, Armies or any other words for their standing army (if they have one).

You see where I´m heading with that, right?

I think I get you: They're all just cultural terms for something that does the same job. So a knight in Cyrodiil is the same as a Swordthane in Skyrim, a Canonreve in Auridon and a Chieftan's Guard in Elseweyr. Gameplay wise they can all share the same class and have similar outlooks while still being true to their culture.

Yet as gamers do we accept that premise or must knights fit the definition in every sense of the word?

Fit the definition in every sense of the word... Well, I think we agreed that Knights in Elder Scrolls are up to interpretation. So if you consider a Swordthane, Canonreve and Chieftain´s Guard to be similar in concept to knights as we discussed them...then yeah, we accept that premise.

Well I didn't give it that much thought apart from wanting to get my point across to see if it was the same as your own point.

Anyhow, I will investigate what a Khajiit knight would actually be like when viewed through their own cultural lens.

Looking forward to see what you come up with

Late to the discussion, but my main is an Orc Templar Tank. I roleplay as a knight of Trinimac (when I'm not busy in AA or HRC )

I´m playing Orc Nightblade Tank, but I´m more like a mercenary than knight. Me and Trinimac didn´t really see eye to eye in Orsinium

Did you expect that to happen going in? I mean, did you go in as pro- Malacath or just found yourself on that side of the fence?
