The Workbench

  • October 30, 2016

Sorry man, I always forget to check the Workbench...Mostly because I'm never sure what the original intention of it was, most of the stuff people ask here is covered in other groups you know...Anyway, I'll see what I can tell you.

Per the UESP for the Ring of Namira, if you are wearing the ring and then take the Ill Met By Moonlight quest; you can forever feed off bodies and get the Ring's bonus (Namira).  I am interpreting that to mean "even without wearing the ring".  Is this correct?  I have taken the quest and the ring auto-equipped but all I see changing is the loss of the +50 Stamina (from Namira) and the "Eat" option no longer appears when I click on a humanoid corpse.  So I'm not sure how to get this "glitch" to work.  Any suggestions?

First of all, make sure you don't have any official patches or anything installed (I'm 99% sure they fix this glitch). From what I know with this glitch, you can't finish the quest, you can't unequip the RoN at any point, and it should work...  Sorry man, T&T isn't my best area (might be better to ask in that group) so I can't 100% tell you what the issue would/might be. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work if you don't have the Ring equipped, but I'm just not sure.

I did find this article from 3 years ago with someone having the same problem but there's no real response.

I've already asked this one but no real responses yet.  I am understanding that using a self enchanted weapon (even a fork) along with an unenchanted staff in your offhand, you can then "bash-attack" and get the enchantment bonus as damage.  I can see that the process works...sort of...but I'm running about an 80-90% "bash only" result and only a 10% (or less) result of actually seeing the enchantment damage taking place.  Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this "spear technique" and how to improve the results from the "random" results to get more actual damage on the bash-attack?

I'm pretty sure it's all just luck. I can't remember which build used it (ask that one in Build Recommendations) but I do remember the results being kind of random at best, though from what I remember the bash itself was supposed to be fairly unreliable as an attack method. It's just difficult to get any of it to proc.

That's actually me posting that about a week ago..lol.  When I didn't get anything there I headed over here..haha.  I did hear that on console it seems to work well but not so much for me on PC.  I may revisit on SE once I fire it up since it's vanilla.

That should be fine Sky. You can always just copy and paste the text (which might require you editing the text formatting), if you've got pictures what you need to do is this.

    1. Save them to your PC
    2. Upload them to either the Tamriel Vault in an album (go to multimedia in the top right, scroll down to add Photos and it follows from there).
    3. Once you've uploaded them, copy and paste the url, and then come over to your discussion and use the Insert/Edit Photo tool (the photo icon next to the video icon, not the one next to upload) to place them where you need them.

Need some suggestions on how to counter/offset Weakness to Magic (besides Enchanting).  Any perks that I could look at?

Well, you can get 25% magic resistancefrom being a Breton, 15% from the Agent of Mara passive ability, 25% from the Lord Stone, and up to 30% more from the three Magic Resistance perks in Alteration. That's all that I'm aware of.

Alright, I know I've use the AC before but it does not show up with both Standing Stone perks in my "current ability" screen.  I've got Apprentice stored on the AC and then Lord after I removed the AC.  But only Lord shows up.  How do I ensure I am getting the Magic Restore rate plus the Weakness to magic?

I'm like 95% done with my Blood Stag build, but I feel kinda iffy about my presentation. Any ideas on how I might make it a bit more interesting and better looking? Also, should I do away with the lore section or keep it?
