Looks like someone skipped leg day.. Joking aside I think you did a great job with this. Minor things to touch up on: his legs could be further spread apart and his torso bent over ever so slightly more to give the appearance of a more aggressive battle stance.

    So something more like this?

Having seen the colored version of this, I must say I am impressed with how your skills are developing.

Finished this piece just now. Total time spent working on it was roughly 4 hours. I really wish something along the lines of Conjure: Shadow Clone existed in Skyrim.

Thanks Curse, I'm mainly just happy that it looks human and not... well anything else

Time to ask my fellow artists a question...

Does anyone have any tips for improving on my magicka pools? I think I have the shape about right, but not necessarily the colouring. Have started in pencil as I'm not up to speed on what I can do in GIMP yet.

    Does gimp have layers?

If the answer is yes what you should do is make that line art its own layer and change its type to 'multiply'. Doing that makes any color you add to the layer underneath show through the lines.

Okay thanks Curse, will give that a go :-)

Used to be fairly proficient in Paintshop Pro, when it was still Jasc, seriously out of practice now, and GIMP can be tricky from what I've seen so far.

This is it! I'm doing my own artwork! :-D The problem is, I have no idea where to start. Well, I do, Ive read Curse's and Mason's tutorial here, but Id like a few more examples on how to do stuff like drawing characters with video game artwork quality, you know, like those posted on a video game's website, or make realistic characters on photoshop ala Mason. Could anyone point me to the right direction? Curse? Mason? Thanks a lot in advance! :-D Also, when drawing characters I noticed you guys doing it on pen and paper first, before transferring it to the digital world. But if I wanted to draw stuff digitally on the get-go, are there any software that can do that? Thanks again! :-D
