  I have a bad habit of adding dumb ideas untill the plan looks like Hermaeus Mora incarnated, so my only advice is "keep it simple".

  i think the end journal thing would depend on how they died really for example; if someone died by falling off a cliff or getting killed by say a bear then they cant write the journal but if they are slowly dying but still have time to write a few words then it makes sense ^_^
