Had a pretty intense combat encounter last night. I was crossing over Cutler Bend to help out the settlers at Somerville Place, just on the edge of the Glowing Sea. As I was almost across, 3 Mirelurk Kings decloak - one in front of me and two behind. I'm completely out in the open at this point, but I manage to take one of the down with a barrage of VATS headshots from my Deliverer, and another by taking some jet and emptying a couple of magazines in to it. The last one jumps back in to the water, giving me a chance to catch my breath, and use a Stimpak to heal (I'm down to about 10% health at this point). As he comes back in to view I take him down with a VATS critical headshot from my sniper rifle (Overseer's Guardian with the .308 mod).
It's not over yet though - while I'm picking through the bodies I hear a vertibird approaching. It looks like this one has been damaged from a nearby battle and is spiralling down on my position! I manage to sprint just far enough away that I'm not killed by the explosion.
By the end of it all I was near death and very dehydrated from all the chems, luckily the Somerville Place water pump was close by.

Is that the trap in the sleeping bag with the decoy manniquin? I hate that! Killed me when I was tracking Kellogg on my first playthrough when I was trying to disarm it, kept activating the examine decoy thing instead of the mine. Now I just shoot it from a distance to be sure.

While I was tracking Kellog I could here this roaring and the controller was vibrating, so out of equal parts fear and curiosity I started looking around thinking there might be a behemoth nearby. Turns out I was being stalked by a Deathclaw, I just started to panic as it shredded Dogmeat and MacCready. Lucky the whole time it was doing that its belly was pointed towards me so I was able to get some shots in with my sniper rifle.

A little off topic but I had that same Deathclaw stalk me on my last playthrough. She was a melee character and I think there's some bug with melee in VATS where you can sometimes launch larger enemies in to the air and kill them with fall damage (guessing the game places you inside the enemy and some silly physics happens). It looked a bit like this:

The worst part of it was that I could tell the direction it was coming from based on were Dogmeat was looking, so I looked down my scope to get a better look and could only see its scaly back moving through the trees in the distance
