To be fair, there hasn't been much raging going on here.
To your point, Beth can publish what they want, but if they were smart, they would publish what their fans want.
I mean some their fans wanted a Wolf 2 and Evil Within 2, so I guess they are doing their job then.
In the legend almighty Patriarch's most capable defense, I would like to point out that he likely meant the majority of fans, which happen not to be Wolfenstein or Evil Within fanbases.

I'm a bit late to the party but here's what I think.
There's no way nothing has been done on ES6 - some plans for the game must have been drawn up and maybe some work on game assets. Sure it may not be in active development but Beth will release it eventually; at least 4 years by my imagination. I think they want to get two new major titles out of the way and see how well they do sales wise. Elder Scrolls is what made the company and I don't think they will turn their backs on the series yet.
I think the focus will be on consoles for future ES games and the current gen isn't good enough to do what they want. If that's true then ES6 will be one hell of a game if they are waiting for the next hardware generation.

But Wolf had a fan base way before Elder Scrolls did so let's face it Skyrim is what made the ES series popular, you could say Oblivion and Morrowind as well, but I bet more have played Skyrim. But, if they only listen to the majority then they will be a one trick pony.

They haven't released an Elder Scrolls game since 2011 and you're afraid of them becoming a one trick pony.

But they have released other games since then. Yes, I am because Beth is home to a couple of my favorite series of all time, Wolf, Doom, Fallout, TES, and Quake, so they only focus on one of those then they will end up like Activision who became a one trick pony with CoD or Ubisoft with AC. I mean look at Nintendo they focus on all their major titles like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon all equally in a sense.

I'm not taking away from anyone who likes Wolfenstein or Evil Within. Heck, I remember playing Wolfenstein back when . . . well, before most of you were gaming. My problem is with release dates:
Evil Within was released in October, 2014 and we already have a sequel. That's a scant three years compared to six years since Skyrim (and counting).
Wolfenstein was released on this schedule:
1981 - Castle Wolfenstein
1984 - Beyond Castle Wolfenstein
1992 - Wolfenstein 3D
1992 - Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny
2001 - Return to Castle Wolfenstein
2003 - Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
2008 - Wolfenstein RPG
2009 - Wolfenstein
2014 - Wolfenstein: The New Order
2015 - Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
2017 - Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
The only time a Wolfenstein fan had to wait as long for a new game as we TES fans is the period between 1984 and 1992. Beyond that, the next longest Wolfenstein waiting period was between 2009 and 2014 - and even that is less time than TES5 to TES6.
Again, not taking anything away from these games, but Evil Within and Wolfenstein are the slowest selling titles. Heck, even FIFA beat Evil Within in sales.
I just think it's our time.

I see Beth stopping ES both impossible and quite likely, from different perspectives:
It's one if not their most popular franchise, and Skyrim did so well and got so many rave reviews that they have to make a new one.
But then again, there's an argument for quitting while they're ahead. Look at Fawlty Towers. They quit while they were ahead and John Cleese went on to do other things, and its remembered dearly as being perfect - the franchise never got bad. Skyrim is the perfect note to end on. And judging by the aesthetics of Fallout 4, Prey and Dishonoured, they're going a completely different direction with their engine design (not sure if this is a valid point or not, I know nothing about game engine and design).

And to be fair to FIFA, if you talk to any teenage - early twenty year old British male its gonna come up in conversation, everyone I know plays it (apart from me).

Some would argue that TES got their due with ESO and ESO: Morrowind. Also, Beth may not want to make a new game because they still milk the old cow and still get money from it and they may want to try different things and such before making a new TES game.
I do agree TES is due for another game, but Beth may be trying to branch out to other people and such, which is similar to what I have I said before. I get the whole the "this is unfair and where is our new game" mentality, but I mean why not let others have their games, so when the big one comes everyone will be happy.
Also, FIFA, Madden, and any other sports games are going to do well because the are Bro Games and they are drones because every one of those games does the same thing over and over every year. And if you like FIFA or any game like that, I mean no offense.

Zonnonn makes a good point. Maybe on some level, they're afraid they can't do any better. If you've just created what you believe to be your magnum opus, that's it - that's your peak. It's all downhill from there. There is an understandable amount of trepidation there. The standards we hold developers to means that creating something better than Skyrim is a monumental task. Not that it's our fault. It's just the dynamic. Maybe they feel they can't outdo Skyrim until they have technology that fundamentally changes the way the game is experienced.

Haha. I know FIFA is well-loved, by Americans and by our brothers across the pond. I meant that sports games sales, generally speaking, does not surpass RPG/Survival-Horror games. That was my only point.
