Welcome everyone to something a little different, a little new and something downright fun for everyone involved. Rather than sticking with the same general theme of running events every few months that have you create builds around a certain theme, we're going with something different. For the month of June, the Character Building group will be running a competition, a contest where only one person can be declared the winner and that's judged on a new set of rules rather than the fairly common, poll or like counter.
Character Building Contest - Judge DB
Simply put, for this contest I will be the judge for all builds, taking a week at the end of the event (so between July 1st and 7th) to carefully read each build, dissect it and to give you points based on 15 different categories that in my eyes, go into creating a build. Now, because I think it'd be ridiculous if I didn't, I will be sharing the complete list of categories, complete with how many points they're worth and a brief analysis of how the category will be judged.
Now, I do want to clarify that the goal of this contest isn't entirely just to win, from my side I will be using it more as a chance to critcially analyze and help builders improve. So, you can definitely aim for the top, that's obviously partof the goal, but if you don't win, use the chance to improve for the next contest. I will be aiming to run these throughout the year, so rather than purely using this to stack yourself up against other builders, use it as a chance to track your own scores and see how you improve.
There is no theme for this event, so go wild, be as creative as you want, and just have fun with the contest. It may be a competition, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun as well :D Good luck everyone, and may the best build win the contest.
Contest Rules:
All builds must be titled Contest Build (Build Name Here)
All builds must have the 'Judged Contest' tag
All builds must be completed by July 1st, AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) any build completed after that date can still be posted but will not be given a contest ranking or be considered part of the event. Builds can be posted prior to this time, but won't be fully reviewed until July (I will of course still read them, but not critically).
Contestants will be judged between July 1st and 7th and on the 8th of July I will announce the winner's total points as well as the two runner-ups who came closest (or more if there's a tie). Detailed analysis will not be done publicly and will be done via PM.

I know that this might be a somewhat controversial event. The idea of a judged event, esspecially when formatted like this one isn't the most popular and it's something that I've personally disagreed with in the past. But I'd like to tackle this in a bit of a different way and try and work with it. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, and that's fine but I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.
As you can tell, my main goal here isn't really to find the 'best build' or builder, but is instead for this to be a fun event where you mightrecieve a bit more ciritcal analysis then you would usually. It's hard to explain without downplaying the other aspects (the compeitton mainly) but yeah, that's the basic idea. While I get the discussion set out, here's a quick list for the categories (though without explanations).

I'd like to compete, but don't really want to start another build atm. I've been working on my current for a bout 13 days, so instead having it be put in by the 31st could it be done by the 18th or somthing like that? BTW you got the end date for all builds for 31 July did ya mean June instead? Any way it's cool if thats not aloud just thought I'd ask :)

Yep, buggered up the July thing there, thanks for poiting it out Furrion. Yeah posting it before the 30th of June is perfectly fine, it just won't be reviewed and critically examined until that July time period. But I'll still drop by and read it of course :D
