I was thinking that I could call the build The Wayward Witchhunter. The backstory would be that he was a young but gifted lad who had just been imitated into the Vigil of Stendarr. He had not yet been given their martial training, hence the possessing a single skill for which he had an aptitude. Being headstrong and not satisfied with the Order's tame methods, he joined Isran and the Dawnguard. However, he was seduced by vampirism (either Harkon or Serena).
Perhaps he could feel remorse and later seek a cure, choosing to keep one of his old abilities (Vampiric Grip would be my choice, but I'm a sucker for telekinesis of all types).
The build would then focus on only using the left handed Vampire Lord powers in human form - Raise Dead scales with your level, Summon Gargoyle I'm not sure about, but Corpse Curse can paralyze most foes and stagger others, finally Vampiric Grip is the ultimate expression of Alteration mastery.
The build could be further be augmented with only Alteration coupled with some well known tricks - The Ultimate Atronach could be used for unlimited concentration casting while raising Magicka and Spell Absorption by (if I remember correctly) 68 points. Combine 30% absorption from the Atronach perk for 98% of near magic immunity. Plus Breton (25%), Magic Resistance (30%), and Agent of Mara (15%) for a total of 70% resistance.
An issue would be that the Ultimate Atronach resets with each transformation.
Now the build would be a powerful witchhunter against magic users, but very weak against opponents. So this might be an issue to be worked around - perhaps the use of found staves (no recharging), spider scrolls, or something else. No other crafting or bartering.
Alternatively, he could use Restoration combined with Wards and the Ultimate Atronach, or even better he could choose Restoration and side with Harkon. The Necromage and recovery perks combined with Vampire Lord powers, Wards and the Apprentice Stone would be enough to fuel his abilities.
Thoughts?
