For my alchy, so far I am level 13 with 55 Alchemy and nothing else above 30.  I am lightly using archery (for poisons and hunting) and block (turtle and let my poisons go to work). Avoiding leveling Sneak is my only real concern.

I am roleplaying as an oddball, who grew up studying plants and bugs when all the other children were obsessed with physical strength or magical prowess.  This leads to many of the other children in Hammerfell (Breton born but raised by an elderly Redguard woman not far from Skyrim's southern border) teasing him for his hobby, which to them seemed like an anti-social waste of time.  This is ultimately the motivation driving him to prove that alchemy, when properly mastered, can not only be a viable profession, but can even turn you into a god!

Still trying to find a good outfit, so far I am mixing Whiterun Guard armor with Novice Hood and Steel Boots/Gauntlets.  It looks really good with my hunting bow and steel arrows, but not really "Alchemisty"(?).

As you said, this is the perfect build for no fast travel and I haven't yet and don't plan to!  I stumbled across Froki's Shack for the first time ever on this play through and am currently in the middle of trying to hunt these guardian animals.

Will update later this week when more progress is made.  Thanks for making this build Laz!

Hey Brad, it seems to me it turned out very good! As for your outfit dilemma i have a section under apparel in the presentation, you might find something more "Alchemisty" that catches your eye over there

"Thanks for making this build Laz!'' - the pleasure is mine

    Cheers!

Wanted to comment again with an update of my Aspiring Alchemist.

The main differences in our characters, Laz, is that I went for light armor + clothes and left out Alteration and am using a Bow instead of Destruction/Restoration, and chose to fore go sneaking.

    So far,

    - Level 32

    -Alchemy 90

    -Archery 65

    -Light Armor 50

-Sneak 15 (I'm proud of that one)

-Currently wearing Stormcloak Officer Armor with Leather Bracers/Boots and Adept Hood, it feels perfect for a traveling Alchemist/Archer

-My short term goal is to wait (forever) for my steward to finish furnishing my house so I can find a place to store everything and actually feel organized.  Also, now that my Alchemy is maxed out perk-wise, I have prepared a ton of ingredients to concoct my brews that I will be storing separately based on effects.  I also plan to get my armor with "end-game" enchants (boosted by fortify resto potions a bit) ready to equip.

-I am about to start my quest for the Aetherial Crown to counteract my stunted magic with the Apprentice Stone
