POLL What do you think about Elder Scrolls Legends?

"Don't worry about Tom being characteristically grumpy, Grendel"

Well, it's certainly isn't going make me lose any sleep, that's for sure XD

"Frankly I don't see the point of ignoring everything that Bethesda (or companies licensed by them) does just because we all want Elder Scrolls VI. I mean, I'm looking forward to Elder Scrolls VI as much as everyone else, but its just weird to think that it will come sooner if we ignore everything else..."

Exactly. I'd much rather Bethesda take their time on TES6 while some other developer make a spin off to fill the appetites of the more hardcore TES fans. Glad to hear that this site won't ignore ESL.

"I didn't think so. ESO wasn't made by Bethesda either. I'd rather have no Elder Scrolls games than crappy Elder Scrolls games and ESO was a crappy game"

Some might say the same about Skyrim or even Oblivion and Morrowind. Just because you think something is crappy, doesn't mean everyone else does. I personally thought ESO was a good attempt at translating the TES formula (Dungeon crawling, character building, great lore, etc.) into an MMO format.

"Fallout needs to rot in a garbage heap. My distaste for it and my opposition to it's inclusion to this site aren't things I've hidden."

Just out of curiosity, do you hate Fallout because you dislike what Beth did to Black Isle's franchise, or because it gets in the way of TES6?

Also, what's wrong with the game being featured on this site? It's not like it's physically hurting you (at least to my knowledge) and it certainly doesn't look like it's taking popularity away from the Skyrim Group.

"I have played many, and ESO was terrible. I'd much have rather gotten new lore in TES VI or they could've dumped it all onto the internet for all I care. At least I wouldn't have to play their shitty MMO to access it.

Bethesda's record so far of licensing their IP to other producers to make their games is failure. Why would we want them to continue the trend?"

     What other MMOs you play?

I will have to disagree with your opinion that all ESO lore should have been dumped on the internet or put in TES6 instead of being featured in the MMO. A lot of it's lore requires the context of the time period ESO takes place (the Interregnum) and the provinces featured in ESO, something your average Bethesda game would not be able to cover. If you don't want to play "their shitty MMO", then simply go to the Imperial Library/UESP or wait and see if they might feature a few of the more "stand alone" ESO books in TES6.

Again, just because you believe that ESO and all other TES spin offs are "failures" does not mean that thinks the same thing.. Also, Fallout Shelter was not made by Beth, yet that game still managed to make them a shit ton of money, (which, hopefully, they will use to fund the next TES game), so I would hardly call that a failure.

So, to continue, what about TES Redguard, or Battlespire?

Both were great games IMO. I haven't played Redguard, despite owning it on GOG, because  it runs too slow on my laptop. But from what I have seen, the gameplay seems extremely clunky, but the story is one of the best Bethesda has ever produced. It also introduced the first Pocket Guide to the Empire, which created the TES universe we all know and love.

Battlespire's gameplay is much better, and I would love to see more TES spin offs like it, where's more about dungeon crawling than exploring an open world. While it's story isn't as good, it did flesh out the daedra so they weren't generic demons.

However, I do not believe either game was a success financially, and they wouldn't really count anyway since both games were developed by Bethesda and not another company.

I wasn't kidding when I said I'd be down for it.

So just listened to a post-PAX East podcast with TotalBiscuit who plays a lot of Hearthstone and also doesn't really like TES. Apparently he really enjoyed Elder Scrolls Legends. So I'm a bit more interested in the game, even though I have wildly different tastes than TotalBiscuit regarding card games and TES.
