This is brilliant! I've been trying to adhere to my own, much less specific version of this in my latest New Vegas playthrough (very similar to Saryn's), but sometimes I get a little carried away with scavenging. Old habits and all that . . . Anyway, great post! Next time I start anew, I think I might try to apply this more specifically.

I think how much you carry should depend on the caliber. Maybe 50-60 .308s, but since they're almost (in real life) twice as heavy as, say, a 5.56, you could, then carry nearly twice that in 5.56, assuming you have the space in your rig. Think about it: 90 rounds is only three full magazines on ammunition, and many soldiers have six to eight magazines in pouches on their tactical vests in the militaries of today's world.

That said, grenades are heavy things, and are and odd shape, so carrying and storing 15 would be a hassle, even if you had, say, a dedicated belt for mounting them.

Also, if mods can be had to edit the weight of weapons, that would be great. I've seen these "sniper rifles" weighing in at 11 or more pounds. That's incredibly heavy for a rifle, especially when you consider that a much larger rifle, such as my Turkish Mauser, which is based very closely on the Gewehr '98, weighs almost exactly 9 pounds.

Otherwise, I will definitely be following a good number of these rules, without various exceptions depending on the character.
