A few years back when I was relatively new to maging, I played Alastor's Transient Sorcerer and absolutely loved it. It gives you a wide array of spell schools to choose from, so you get a nice, general feel for each of the schools, but you are using mostly novice spells to play it, so it keeps things from getting overly complicated. Best part... those novice spells are still viable at the higher levels! With a few perks in the right places, I found that Dual Cast Flames, Fury, and flesh spells were more than adequate, and a lot of fun to roll with.

You're putting 5 perk points into Enchanter, so if you enjoy that sort of thing (which I do), there's another bonus.

Even though I don't have the DLC (and so couldn't experience the full effect of this build), it was still fantastic, and if I ever do get the DLC, I'll play it again--that's how much I enjoyed it ;D

Hi Steve and welcome to Skyrim CB.  For research purposes you cannot go wrong with the archives as Lee already suggested, there are some stellar wolf and vamp buids in there.  I would also recommend you read our Group Rules  and I would suggest also reading this nice Guide before you post a build.  If you need help with presentation then Noodles has put together a fantastic Template to help get you on your way.  Good luck.

There was a build posted recently, I want to say with in the last 1 or 2 weeks (though I could be wrong on that). It was a mage type build, and one of the roleplaying guidelines was spending most of your time at the College, helping out students and teachers and such. That part of it sounded interesting and fun to me.

Does anyone know which I'm talking about? I just can't remember the name at all. 

@ Richtus:  That could potentially describe every mage themed character.  I know it sounds alot like my suggestion in my Pyromancer build but that's and old build from 2015.  Is there anything else you remember about the build? race or pictures, something else that would make it stand out from other builds?

Hey, that's the exact one! I know most mage builds say to do the College line, but I just remember reading it specifically saying to hang out at the college, don't rush it, etc. I don't recall other builds saying that. Thanks. :)

I've just moved over here, having been away from the site for some time. I was trying to track down a couple builds I remembered wanting to try way back when. One I was able to find on the old site: 'Vargyr', a cool werewolf build. The other, I can't remember many details and was wondering if anyone else may remember. All I can remember from the build was the screenshot of the character because he looked like a total nutjob. Just a dude in roughspun trousers, rocking a priest mask and a stave. Anyone have any ideas?

I realise it's a long shot with such little info, but hey, worth a shot right? Thanks in advance for any help.
