One character is a combat archer...

The ultimate combat archer, as far as I'm concerned, is Alastor's Boiche Seeker.

Bows only... for close quarter combat! It's a fast-paced thrill ride. He does perk Sneak, but this is not sneak archery. It's merely to get into a position so that he can pop out of sneak and get off the first shot. Heck, if you wanted, you could avoid Sneak entirely, but waiting for enemies to run up to you so you can bust out the close-quarter archery seems a bit dull (besides, the Silent Roll perk makes a great duck-and-roll maneuver). Give it a read--especially the Bow Techniques section... great stuff! :D

The images for this build haven't been restored just yet, but the ning site still has it in all its picture-y glory. You can find it here.

Hmm! Looks interesting! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out. I've read about those archery techniques before. I tried messing with them but couldn't pull it off. I'll have to give them another try.

    Any good non-sneaky dagger builds?

I actually have a build based on each of the criteria you have here. To be fair, Alastor's Boiche Seeker is still a better option if you wan an actual archer, but I've got a funny little build that's a melee archer not a close-ranged archer.

The Veiled Scribe is that build, and it's completely based around bow-bashing and only fires an arrow, I'd say on average once a level if that. It uses a lot of little exploits and techniques so it might not be your thing but it's one of the few alternatives to the Boiche Seeker for a close-ranged Archer.

The Kaj-Wamasu is my dagger wielding warrior. It really has three selling points, first it uses the Bound Daggers to fight. They're a pretty cool weapon because they just can't be used for stealth really (they have the sound of a sword) and they use the Sword Dual-Wielding Power Attack instead of the Dagger one, which is slightly faster meaning we get more damage. It's also a build that has an insane way to heal itself (base Healing Spell boosted to the max) and it abuses the hell out of Lightning Storm (300+ damage per second with a 0 Magick Cost). It is primarily a Dagger-Fighter though, the rest is just additional stuff.

Funny. I was going to suggest either the Kaj-Wamasu or the Trebbite Monk, but was afraid to because of the magic. I totally agree, though. When I feel dagger-y, those two are the builds I find myself drawn to :D

Hey guys, just wondering, whats the hardest build you guys know of? By which I mean, what build makes the game the most challaging, yet still fun?

I've tried a few on here, and so far, I must say, they where all pretty awesome (Copycat build is my fav atm), but I find most get overpowered faily quickly, on average Im on Legendary difficulty by lvl 20 ( copycat I was changing forms every 5 levels, and got to lvl 45 before i was on Legendary).

Hey Synbios, sorry for the late response.  When I think challenge i think Vancian Wizard.  It's a whole new way to playing the game that is challenging, rewarding, and turns the leveling system on its ear.

No worries on that, Vargr a reply is always a reply, late or otherwise lol. Looks like a good build, might see if I can work round the vamprism though. Never been keen on that lol. Still, definatly worth a go. Any more suggestions? lol

Mason's Arcane Archer is pretty sweet (The Nightstalker path utilizes Conjuration, and is particularly awesome).

If you aren't a fan of Enchanting, Albino's Nightingale Archer uses Illusion in addition to Archery. Soooo many interesting options with Illusion :D

I'm looking for suggestions for a mage play. I have never played extensively as a mage and I'd really like to give it a proper whirl, so what would anyone suggest for a caster who isn't a pro at maging around? I'm likely to fall flat on my face/mess things up so some of the complex, 17 spell setups are way beyond the jelly like mass I call a brain. Any tips on being a bit hardy or staying alive would be helpful!

Love crafting so any/all of that is fine. For what it's worth I'm wanting to aim for a completionist sort of playthrough. Oh, vamps/werewolves are also fine - very much like werewolves and have never been a vampire so it could be interesting.
