REPOST FROM The Workshop! I never got an answer, so I'll post it here - please delete it if it's in the wrong place :)

    ---

Hi all - it's my first post/question ever, so feel free to correct me if I'm off topic or posting in the wrong place :)

For a long time I've been thinking about doing a build based on The Story of Lyrisius - I'm thinking something like a champion of Mephala-ish meets the Blades
In the story he ends up getting turned into a raven, so I'm gonna name him Lyrisius Ravenlord - his ancient foe would be Alduin.

I'm gonna enchant a Fearstruck, enchant a Goldbrand (since there are no spears), and use the Ebony Mail. As for the rest of the gear, I'm thinking Blades boots and gloves and maybe the Jagged Crown as a headpiece. Throw on a dagger as well, story related.

He is going to roll in heavy armor, use one handed, block, speech (how else would you manage to lie to a dragon?), smithing and enchanting

    Other than that I'm lost...

I'm on a PS3 so I have a hard time planning ahead or quickly testing the build/equipment/skillset...

    My doubts:

    Story-wise:

    - The story takes place in Akavir - how would they end up in Skyrim?

    - It happened in the first era - what race would be viable? I was gonna make him Dunmer, but they weren't around back then..?

    - Roleplaying - I have absolutely no ideas whatsoever of how to roleplay a soldier - maybe an officer/royal kind of guy?

    Build-wise:

    - Skills - what do I lack?

    - Shouts?

    ...

You guys think this could turn into something?

Well, the setting may be Akavir, but the person is not. This book appears in Daggerfall, which is set in High Rock, but the story is set elsewhere. The connection to Boethia is interesting. It says he's a general too. Hmm, my inclination is to make him Chimer, which means the playable race for that is Altmer. The story is actually rather cool.

I'd make Fearstruck for sure or hell, you don't have to recreate everything.  There are a lot of shields in the game that would inspire fear. Targe of the blooded, Spell breaker, etc. But why even bother with Goldbrand? The story is based on a dagger. I'd go heavy into daggers ending with Kahvozein's fang and extract heartscales from the dragons you meet in recreating his famous adventure. My skills. One-handed (dagger), Block (lots of great shields), and I'd cut out one of the crafting gears. Probably enchanting because you can find gear that'll be best for you in the game. I'd keep smithing to upgrade the dagger if you can. I'd add sneak over speech because while speech won't effect your interaction with dragons, sneak will. Alteration is a consideration for flesh spells and magic resist and possibly to obtain Kahvozen's fang. There is also a mod, Unique Uniques that gives the fang a nifty new look. Shame you are ps3, so the mod wouldn't work for you, but it's something I'd recommend to others when you construct this, IMO, very viable, kinda cool build.

Any ideas on a build based on an Ayleid? Planning to make an Ayleid based build next, wondering what I should focus on, eg Stealth or Magic. Thanks in advance

I don't know much about them, but Henson's character build, The Ayleid, might be a good place to start. He seemed to focus mainly on Magic, but stealth could be an interesting option (especially if you make this a 'The Last of the Ayleids' kind of build ;D).

One way or the other, not a lot of Ayleid builds out there, so you've got a lot of room to run... I'm curious to see what you come up with :D

I 'm planning to play a character that will use necromancy as one of his major skills. I will be using up to expert level conjuration (not dead thrall) so what is the level cap I 'll be able to reanimate minions and how can I raise it  maybe?

Dread Zombie is level 30 default, level 37 with Necromage perk. Conjuration potions boost duration as does dual cast.

Hm ok, I wasn't sure if dual cast would boost the level cap and actually was hoping it would :P , thx for info.

If you're seriously wanting to run the Necromancy route, I highly suggest reading Vargyr's Necronomicon in the Tips and Tricks section. It has outstanding info on how to maximize Necromancy. Thralls are actually a roleplay concept favorite of mine, and not all of NPC thralls are created equal.

If you want to only go to Expert Necromancy, check out the Soul Cairn summon spells and the Ritual stone. Those will honestly serve you in very good stead even without Thralls at higher levels.

Yeah I was also thinking to look into the soul cairn summons and I will ceratinly go for the ritual stone. Thanks for the guide info.

Hey guys, anyone know of any non-respwaning caves that would make a good home for a sort of Forsworn type character?
