I'm still fairly new to the dlc, so haven't used Soul Tear. Is its cooldown as quick as Clear Skies? Clear Skies is darned near to being spamable :D

    Hey Shijin,

I was following the thread and looked up the difference between the 2 shouts.
Whilst both of them have stagger effects, it seems that Soul Tear in itself was designed for combat usage.
Allow me to expund on this:

    • Clear Skies Shout:
      • Has stagger effect
      • Baseline cooldown as follows:
      • LOK = 5 sec / LOK + VAH = 10 sec / LOK + VAH + KOOR = 15 sec
      • Effects: Clears the skies of fog or heav weather for 20, 40 & 60 seconds respectively

    • Soul tear Shout:
      • Has stagger effect
      • Baseline cooldown as follows:
      • RII = 5 sec / RII + VAAZ = 5 sec / RII + VAAZ + ZOL = 90sec
      • Effects: Does 300 points of damage to health and if target's ead, raise as zombie for 60 sec

From the looks of things, it would seem that the soul tear shout might benefit combat more, due to it's rather short cooldown which can be further augmented with amulet of talos and blessings of talos. Plus, it's also a strong finisher, to immidiately anhillate groups with the HP in the sub 300 region.

Fits the forsworn character that the OP is going for as well i suppose, if he's playing a full fledged forswown aligned dragonborn.

    My 2 cents.

    Regards,

You forgot to say that the soul tear can fill a soul gen after killing your enemy but you said what I wanted to say.

Thanks, guys! That sounds pretty devastating (PLUS I imagine ST works both indoors and out... an additional benefit ;D)

I've got the DLC's now, but I've only done one playthrough that used any shouts, and Soul Tear never came into the picture. I'll definitely have to give that one a whirl in the future :D

Guys I'm still wondering what are the best enchantments against dragons

Dragonbane has a unique echantment that's specifically for dragons. Then there's shock and the magic targeting ones to remove their breath attack, I believe stamina ones stop them biting so much, and fire and frost are good against their opposites, so very good against some and naff against others, so I wouldn't rely on them.

Wait what do you mean by "magic targeting ones to remove their breath attack".

I do believe he might be reffering to anything that targets the removal of magicka from the opponent.
Therefore, in this case, from the top of my head, the following enchantments comes to mind:

    • Absorb Magicka Enchants
    • Lightning Damage Enchants

He could further augment the capability to drain magicka of dragons via poisons, but that's branching out altogether.

    Thanks.

But isn't the dragon breath considered as a shout? And if that's true then will these enchantments still work? Sorry guys I know I'am asking too much but I appreciate all your help guys thanks.
