It would be more of a Ronin than a Samurai.

I really don't see him as a ronin. Being ronin means you have been dishonored but will not take your own life via sepukku, which is the only way of reclaiming your lost honor, he still has plenty of honor left. I also still see him as a part of the Legion or at least allied with it, he just doesn't have his old rank (he was basically the Sam Fisher of Tamriel). I always make sure to do the Imperial questline and kill Thalmor whenever possible.

A Ronin is a rogue Samurai with no master, but now since you explained that he is part of the Legion, in a way, that makes sense now.

Ah, I just read about it again and you're correct. I must have interpreted it wrong the first time. I guess he is a ronin as you said. He also isn't "officially" in the Legion in my headcanon, that's just begging for the Thalmor to find him. Instead, I brought one of my housecarls along and dressed them up in Imperial armor, they were the "famous commander", not me.

No worries many people get Samurai and Ronin mixed up. :) Ah, okay gotcha now.

Actually, I was talking about the meaning of ronin. I figured it meant "dishonored" but it really means "wanderer".

Eh, close enough. Also, trust me many people think Samurai = Ronin with some sort of difference.

You wouldn't deleting the second post would you? You doubled posted the same thing. :)

    That's a nice topic Zonnon!

The character I 'm planning to start playing I hope next week will be an Orc adventurer / wanderer. His setup will be that he was a city Orc that led a comfortable life in Cyrodiil and he is also a "romanticist" regarding all the warrior / honor / adventuring stuff. After a series of events he had to fend off for himself with nothing but a pair of clothes and his knowledge.

His main goal will be to learn how to survive alone in the wilderness (he will have some ranger class elements) and even though he won't be able to wield successfully a sword and shield nor wear flashy heavy armor still manage to become a respected warrior who upholds his personal code of honor as a warrior. Another goal of his will be to find good friends and companions and who knows maybe a love interest. He will view his life as a long journey so he will never stop even if he has accompliced all of the things he wanted to do; he will just keep going wherever the road and his quests to help others in need and become more accompliced himself take him (some "old orc" element). Also I will have a Warrior's Code for him to follow which will be based in the Japanese Bushido and the european Chivalric Code. To be honest I 'm quite excited about this playthrough since I 'm sure I 'll like it enough to make a build and roleplay profile for the character out of it :D .

This sounds like a love novel character.

He is a Renaissance Man in other words, which is pretty cool. Your character reminds me of another warrior, but I can't think of his name, from a book or movie I have seen. The Old Orc element is a nice touch.

@The Nameless King - Yeah that 's pretty much what he will be, he will be a character with a few classic "hero / warrior / main character" elements you see in novels and movies.

As long as he isn't bland and boring or even a Gary Stu, I can't wait to see what you do with this character.

He certainly won't be like that because I don't like this type of character as well; the guy is out for blood after he figures out how to survive of course :P
