Oh wow, for some reason I totally forgot that you could just block with a bow, without bashing. Brainfart. I'm checking your build now; not sure how I missed it before. From a quick glance, it looks really good. I'm a sucker for a close combat archer. This will be a fun read!

I've already got the majority of this build planned out on paper. Looks somewhat inspired by those two builds, and Zach's Sternguard. But the Unarmed, Bashing, and MFD stuff make it a beast in its own class. When I've drafted it a bit more, I'll PM it to you if you're interested. I'd love to see your thoughts on all this fantastic info put to action by one of your readers.

Excellent! Your mini-hype about this argument was well deserved.
What I'm beginnig to see is a saga of gameplay mechanics designed to rival enchanting and smithing for the crown of overpowered aspects. That is with adept difficulty, since on legendary these tactics are somewhat of a must, to keep the pace of battle enjoyable.
Block is going to be a main factor for my next character, designed to be my personal 'ultimate build'.
Best thing about these arguments is that they stay true to the game, as I shunn away from fortify restoration buffs and loops and don't think of them as viable for me.
I am in an information overload and need to organize my skyrim experience correctly. One thing I do know, is that without these posts I dont think I would have discovered these things on my own.

I hope you do post that Monk build. If you have questions/concerns about posting a build, or just want some feedback or anything like that, I'd be happy to provide some input.
I've been spending this evening/night drafting and revising a concept for a build that combines your findings on bashing, unarmed, and MFD. I'm really happy with how it's coming together, and can't wait to see how it works in action.
I think at this point, I actually will put my other build on hold to give this a shot. It's only shaping up to be a level 30-35 build, and it should level pretty quickly. I could probably have ready to be posted within a week, maybe even a few days if testing goes well. I'd love some input from you if you're interested, James. Maybe I could send the draft to you...
But like I said before, I think you deserve to be the one who first brings these discoveries to the CB group. So you should post your Monk!
