I'm a sucker for ranger as well (which is probably why I like ronin builds so much... really just a ranger with a slightly different vibe). The explore-and-clear playstyle is also a lot of fun... it's nice not to get bogged down with quest after quest every once in a while ;)
xD Thanks, Db!

I know what you mean, before I hit level 25 I think I'd done only about 10 quests with some being the ones you have to do to progress in other ones. But yeah quests get boring after a few hundred playthrough but I've never played a character where I haven't found at least one new place to visit.

I'm back for that comment I promised
It has been a pleasure to work with you once more, I love the fact that everything we've thought about Anathema since the first PM has fallen into their place, everything fits.
Winterhold has been a nightmare, I scouted that place and just couldn't find someone that deserved Death! People are too nice there :P
Needless to say, If you ever want to Collaborate or Feedback on a new build, Just PM me!
+1, Friend :D

People tend to be mistrustful of rangers... they spend a lot of time alone out in the wild looking for trouble, and they have some unsavory connections for information at times. That's where the TG fit in for me... part of the info network.
To roleplay it, I kept in the guild's good graces by taking on various quest assignments, but never taking on side jobs. Also, I did them sparingly. When I say late game, I didn't get Nightingale gear till level 43 or so. Just when it seemed like the guild might wonder if I was still alive, I'd take on the next quest, report, and disappear for several levels while I did my ranger thing. It actually fit in rather nicely with the game play.
I even gave Nocturnal her key back... seemed it was best to get rid of the thing so that it couldn't fall into the hands of another Mercer Frey. I had a pretty 'whatever' attitude toward the Nightingales as an orginazation (much like Brynjolf).

Interesting! I had that same thought when we were just starting the write-up, but got used to seeing it where it was... I may still switch them, but I'd like to get Lozhar's thoughts on that first ;)
