    It's not too bad. Although I'd recommend not popping your stick in and out, it can result internal damages, I've lost 3 controllers cross-console doing that unknowingly. It wasn't until I had spoken to a few people about it that I found out.

    I can see your reasons for not including Alteration, it makes the character more an arcane thief than anything. I don't suggest perking Illusion and Block, the whole point of Duelist to me is not to absorb damage but avoid it with grace and speed - something that is possible with Quick Reflexes. Overall with my setup you'd end up with around 150AR and 50% Resist Magic with your aesthetic by spending the same 8 perks - extra 4 in Armsman and Agile Defender. You can improve it further with found/stolen enchanted items like rings and necklaces of squire. It's squishier than yours but is also more skill-focused and has more thrill in combat while not being underpowered on Master. For extra difficult encounters there are things like Bones of the Earth and Secret of Protection powers. I don't think I've seen a Duelist without crafting or exploits here and thought that should be a little more interesting. Training with Grelka can give you all the skill in Light Armor you need. The only thing you'll miss out is naming your gear (I have to try that combo, I imagine it being great) :) I hope I'm not coming out harsh, stealth and speed are my favorite playstyles and my disdain for glitches sometimes takes the better of me. :) You have my 'like' for all its worth :)

    I've been doing it with this controller (which I bought used) for several months with no problems.  Don't pull too hard obviously, but it works for me so I would hate to see others be put off by your experiences alone.

    Any criticism of the build itself?

    Yes, but it's difficult to level light armor and one handed to get those perks compared to alchemy and enchanting.  This build is all about not using menus to switch between shouts and powers. I should add that I'm currently testing my bulid against a giant and he will still one shot you if you miss a block.  My play style revolves around parrying and dodging, but he really is still very squishy and susceptible to kill cams and being overwhelmed by numbers and magic so it's not as OP as you think.

    The only thing you should be using is Dragonhide for tough mage encounters or whatever other racial power you have. You already have poisons and potions that you have to sort through and I hate having to switch through menus at all and that's the main motivation behind the crazy high light armor skill.  My Light Armor skill is currently 2,312.  I never have to cast flesh spells or switch to a one-time use power and it's great.  The only way to not use exploits and have a viable duelist would be to invest upwards of 35-40 perks exclusively in combat skills.  This is a thief and a rogue, focused on Speech and clever stealth, not combat (at first).  So it would be impossible to achieve all of this before level 70 and that's very off-putting.  I would advise you to be less worried about combat perks and more worried about having fun, which is what this build is all about.

    On your points about Illusion, I don't think you understand how important Pacify is to having fun with this build.  I took the perks up to quiet casting as well as Hypnotic Gaze, which simulates a group of bandits being so impressed by your sword skills that they forget to help out their friend who you are attacking.

    On blocking, I chose this skill to exploit because it feels great being able to simulate blocking with a blade and the exploit is the least perk intensive way I could come up with.  Remember, non-combat perks are the heart and soul of this build.

    Throw a couple "Small" pictures in there to break up the text. Align them to the left or right of the text. It really boosts reading in my opinion.

    No, no, I understand their importance I just referred to your comment that you need around 20 extra perks in 4 skills to make it viable. I'm saying that you can be viable with just 8 extra perks. The menu sorting issue will be largely reduced since you won't have potions/poisons anymore (at least not crafted). Anyway, you have your vision and I have mine, they don't have to coincide :)

    Not a of the style you put this in, but it is a nice little build. I would like to see more images to break up the walls of text, however. Nice job, Brad
