I see you based this build somewhat on Bronn from GOT, eh? Love that character, or at least I did, until he admitted that he'd kill infants for gold. Anyway this seems like a good build, a very simple build, but a good build nonetheless. Just one question before I give you my like; why invest at all in magicka? He's a sellsword.

Goofed that a bit, I invested in magicka during the actual playthrough so that I could use restoration spells. I stopped using restoration spells at about level 6 though, so it was a bit of a waste.

I get that dragonrend is useful for fighting Dragons but it doesn't really fit into the build at all. I would also second creep's suggestion for the dawnguard light armor after leather armor. Any reason why you use a torch instead of a shield? A light shield seems like a useful and in-character item for this build.

I didn't use a shield out of personal preference really. A shield could absolutely be used, especially with my minor block investment, but I just preferred the look of sword and nothing else.

Yeah I also like the look of just a sword, especially if I feel like leaving kill cams on.

You know Sneak would make a good fit if you want to be more of a lone mercenary and will make you much more viable on higher difficulties. I remember my very first character in Skyrim; he was a lot like this guy only I added Sneak, Smithing and Alchemy. Story wise I played him as a soldier who served in the Legion and quelled the Stormcloak rebellion, after the civil war ended my character had trouble making ends meet so he became a travelling mercenary. Reading this build gives me so much nostalgia and makes me want to revisit that character again, +1!

I think this is the second build inspired by that video, I'm going to have to get around to watching the series...

Some parts of this build really shine while others pale a little bit. You do sell the character really well but when it comes to the gameplay section you start on a sour note....

"To be honest, this build is a bit gimped by its lack of crafting investment."

...and then compound it by talking about how the character is more reliant on a follower. Combining this with the half developed perk spread, level 25/unfinished skills (Block/4/5 light armor) gives the impression that you got frustrated/bored with the character half way through making it...

You do include MfD in your shouts list and I couldn't help notice when watching the video (again) and reading your other notes just how appropriate it really is. In the video he already knows he's won, his opponent has already been 'marked' and Bronn is basically just waiting for him to tire himself out by using his speed and lighter armor to stay out of the way...

It's this element that I think you should have really placed emphasis on in the build. Marking tougher opponents and then dancing around them until they get weak from chasing you, then cutting in and bringing them down effortlessly because of their weakened armor rating...

I think you should definitely continue to bulk it out, sometimes I read a build and I just really enjoy the concept and everything in your 'Why play a sellsword' section is completely true. Presentation wise I'd let the video continue to do some of the talking (maybe embed it properly rather than just providing the link, I can help you with that if you like) and perhaps find a really good pic for your title image rather than just a clip from the series, just something to tie it to Skyrim a little more...

Man, I actually found this comment super helpful. Your insight on the MfD shout really summed up what the combat is all about, and I'm inspired to just re-write the whole gameplay section.

Also yeah, I tried to embed the video but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I'll re-write that section starting now.

Do your gameplay section and then let me know and I'll embed the vid properly for you, you could place the video into the section, I can't think of anything that would sell it better to be honest, it's perfect...

...the video even comes with that nice bit of attitude at the end which I think really compliments the build.
