It's just the tags that are based on the series Vaz, I'm fairly sure I left titles as they were initially (so the full game's name).

Hello Medieval here, I have to give my opinion of this, I dont like this I like this site TamrielVault, first it was about Skyrim, then all Elder Scrolls and later Fallout, I'm really happy with that, but adding more games and join all universes in one group its ok, but I think must be in a different group like "Other games RPG group", and keep RPG group of Elder Scrolls and Fallout in a Group together, because those games are from the same "family" same kind of game, developers, etc. those games made this site, for me are special and deserve something better to be treated as "any game in a same group with all those", It is just my opinion, is always good to take all kind of feedback, I'm being honest, it is what I think and dont like it.

Sounds good, looking forward to seeing what discussion is generated from a finer group focus. Don't really have any ideas for stuff to post myself at the moment but I'll probably participate in future events! I've got all of the DA/Witcher/ME/KOTOR games as well as DSII (but I can't handle the PC controls - it's hard enough without having to deal with input lag and having to contort your hand to pull off stuff like guard breaks/parries).

I've gone and re-tagged my Pillars of Eternity build with the Gaming Corner tag since PoE isn't on our 'roster'. I get why you're doing this but I think it's a little odd that we're basically hiding all of this old RPG content in some dark forgotten corner of the 'RPG Group'. It says in the announcement post that "going forward we ask that you keep non-RPG discussions located in the General Gaming Forum." Does this include discussions for RPGs that aren't on the 'roster'?

From what I can tell, the whole tagging it with Gaming Corner is only for non RPG pieces of work...For instance, we had a little bit of Dying Light content, and that game wouldn't be covered by an RPG Group.

But PoE is undeniably a RPG, so I wouldn't see why it would have to be changed in anyway.

I was thinking the "Gaming Corner" tag would only be for content that isn't an RPG - as mentioned in the tagging rules we're allowing other RPGs, which PoE is, so it can say with the normal tag for content (Build in this case) as well as a tag for the game (either PoE or "Pillars of Eternity" or whatever). It's just that the focus isn't on these RPGs, purely because the five listed were the most popular in recent polls and already had the most content here.

It's only the non-RPG content, like Dying Light, Dishonored, etc, that will have the "Gaming Corner" tag.

Alright, thanks for clarifying. You might want to slightly amend the original post in that case -

old Gaming Corner content that no longer applies to this group (such as content for games not on our roster) will be tagged with "Gaming Corner"

could be a little misleading I kinda assumed that little note on the tagging guide was something from the old group that just hadn't been updated!

Anyway, I've amended the tags for my post. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have planned here.

Ah, I was going to ask about that, but personally I'd consider Dishonored an RPG... I mean do we define a RPG based on the ability to customize a character? The extent we can actually Roleplay in the game? The freedom allowed within the world?

All three of those criteria would boot out different games and focus attention on different ones. To me Dishonored is exactly like the Witcher in terms of being an RPG...Off the top of my head I can't really think of a difference in how the Roleplaying in those games are different (Small things leading up to massive changes post game, your decisions can effect earlier missions).

Working out the definition the group uses might be important down the road...

On that note, what content so far doesn't fit with the RPG focus? I'd say Dying Light and Just Cause myself, but other then that everything else would fit my personal definition

I wouldn't call Dishonored an RPG in the same way I wouldn't call Shadow of Mordor an RPG... Both involve a perk tree and some customisation but ultimately you're playing a 'role', be that Corvo or Talion...

Witcher is an RPG because of how you can play Geralt and adapt him to how you want him to behave... You can be an absolute asshole or a noble guy, or anywhere in between. Dishonored simply has low chaos or high chaos, and nowhere near as much character interaction and roleplaying potential.

Dying Light and Just Cause aren't RPGs either, like you said. I can't think of anything else other than those two and Dishonored on the list that aren't RPGs.

We feared this happening which was why we initially wanted to just have a focus on the main five games since they are all obviously RPGs. With these five series we've got a ton of games to work with, promoting other stuff just wouldn't work. Content that isn't part of these games but is still an RPG (like PoE) will be allowed but just not as promoted/featured as the rest.

I'm not sure if Dragon's Dogma counts as an RPG, it has nine classes, character customization, an open (if slightly on the small side) world and multiple quests (Though a lot of them are fetch quests).

It's quite Dark Souls-esque for those that don't know, it has amazing combat, but certainly isn't as hard as Dark Souls, but can be a challenge if you go somewhere too early.
