General Builds Discussion

Depends what Neverwinter Nights you´re talking about. I know I´ve played the first, with both "DLCs". But never finished the second one.

The first one of course. I couldn't really stand the story for the second one but hey the Character Creation was way cooler (mostly because it had more Classes and like a dozen more Races, probably more)

What Witcher 3 Build Calculators do you guys use? Is this one considered the best?

That's the only one I've stumbled across and I think it's pretty good. I'd prefer if you could add Mutagens to it so that you can plan out you exact abilities and increases but that one is pretty good, it's what I use.

To any Witcher players I have a really useful tip (especially so for those planning on using a lot of Potions/Bombs or just generally will need to meditate a lot.

When you first get to Velen at Hanged Man's Tree take the south rode to Mubrydale, then after doing whatever there head East. After a short distance you'll end up at a large Bandit Camp called Devil's Pit. It might just be me but that place was full of Water, Bread and more importantly Dwarven Spirit. I got at least 30 Spirit and another 20 Alcohest which has been useful as all hell for my Bomb Heavy Character. Not to mention the Food was abundant there. I don't know if it's supposed to be used for a Quest but I recommend trying to go there and retrieve the stuff.

That´s some kind of...quarry, right? I remember it was the first location I went to when I got to Velen.

Yeah, it has a couple locked doors and stuff so it's probably got a Quest related to it. Oh and I think the Bandits are level 5-6. Not really a problem because they barely have any archers (Maybe 1 on the far side) just snipe everyone with your crossbow,stagger-lock them.

On a slightly different note I've found Crossbows to be really useful against Beasts and Humans, against Monsters they suck (maybe better Bolts will fix that) but on Humans you can just annihilate them without being hit. The Stagger seems to be roughly 80% (with no Perks) and the Slow Time Effect is pretty useful. Just something to keep in mind.

Alright, I need some serious help. I decided I want to go for Heavy Armor + Alchemy Witcher using Heavy Attacks. I´m level 4 and I can´t kill 3 stupid Drowners. And I don´t consider myself noob, because on Blood and Bones the game was really easy for me.

I think that my main problem is, that I don´t have a single piece of heavy armor yet. Those who have played the game more than once, do you know where I can get some of the first pieces of heavy armor?

I don´t think I´m playing it wrong, I just think that heavy attacks build is meant for higher levels than starting ones. So far, if I can advise to you guys, go for Light Attacks until you get to novigrad on at least level 10 and then respec to build that you want to play. Especially Heavy Attacks.

Man, the Witcher Build isn't coming through. The Build itself is solid but I've come across a glitch that is stopping me from completing the Bloody Baron's Quests. Looks like I'll be on hold for the Witcher, whenever my game messes up I always get a little turned away from that game.

I'll either be working on a Neverwinter Nights Build or a KotOR Build to get out by the end of the month (or September possibly) I think for my first one I'll start off small with NWN, run one of the Modules rather than the full game (Kingmaker lends itself very well to quick builds and can fit plenty of Roleplay into the mix, not to mention I could make a couple of them). After I've finished my Skyrim Event I might get started on a full-on Neverwinter Nights Build (Or a Shadows of Undertide/Hoards of the Underdark Build, probably SoU)

I´ve read about that Glitch somewhere. What exactly it does? How it prevents your from completing the Bloody Baron´s quest?

I am slowly testing my Heavy Build, but when I find some time between Oblivion and playing witcher, I´ll be writing Witcher Schools Builds. I´ll start with Wolf and Griffin builds probably.
