FO3 & FNV Wasteland Survival Guide- Tips & Tricks

It really depends. I found the stealth suit to be useful in certain situations, but if you have a high enough sneak it is great. So I wouldn't say it is very powerful, but it is useful, get it.? I went with a Sniper and Stealthy Melee character and it did fine with me. I would Sniper in the open and hide, and use melee in CQC.

Cool, thanks I might try a stealth build next although my current FNV character is a sneaky ranger type so might be too much overlap but we'll see. I'll just have to leave the feeling of being a walking tank to my FO4 power armor characters which after playing these games is one of my most missed parts from going backwards and a really good change I think Bethesda made. On a new note I got a little more time in last night and finished Boone's quest and picked up Cass who seems awesome. Love her sass!

You are welcome. Yeah, if you are already playing a sneaky character in one I would play as one in the other until time has passed because it gets boring. I have been playing New Vegas lately, mainly because I am working on three builds, and I think it is better than Fallout 4, but that is a whole another discussion. Did you enjoy Boone's quest and how did you handle it? Also, Cass is awesome and especially when you do her quest her sass is better.

I got Boone's survival armor by giving him the more positive answers and giving him some peace. My character is good to gray morality but isn't a bad person so doing good deeds and helping others is good. He is just not above stealing or showing no mercy to bad people. I did enjoy his quest and through he was a well done character overall. I always enjoy a character with a good pained past backstory. After Cass I will try Veronica and should be ready to try out the Brotherhood stuff by then. Will enjoy myself with Cass in the meantime and will keep smiling every time I ask her if I can ask a question and she exclaims "Ask 'em then!"

The Brotherhood is a let down in New Vegas, but Veronica expands it and you get a good insight on how they do things and their beliefs. Yeah, that always got me too.

Yeah from what I know I agree about the Brotherhood in FNV which is why I was happy to do an NCR build....maybe a Legion build down the road. FO3 is all Brotherhood though so that makes for it I think.

I always destroy the BoS whether I am NCR or not. I just can't stand them. Legion playthrough is fun if you have mods, I don't know what system you play on. FO3 shoves the BoS in your face and makes you join them, something I hate because I like the Enclave.

I have PC so yeah I plan to explore some mods for a Legion playthrough. A decent Legion companion mod will be a must for that time plus more. The base game is really geared well for NCR just like FO3 is so BOS heavy like you said.

I figured you played on PC, and someone on youtube made a pretty good list for Legion mods. It is, but that is just because of the amount of time they had to work on it.

I'll have to check that out when I move into another playthrough. No idea how far I am into my NCR guy and with all th expansions I have a feeling it's not far. After that I think I'll try 3 again and do a slower more broad playthrough and more of the expansions too. Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions for good quest lines, quest hubs, locations etc. for FO3 (or New Vegas)?
