I know. Maybe they could.. I don't know, lend a helping hand for them?

But then again, to quote Paul's comment:

Bethesda is a commercial entity, driven by profits and money. They aren't interested in spending thousands of hours of development time remaking fourteen year old game that would only appeal to a small band of devoted followers.

Wonder how this will impact Skywind/Skyblivion's progress...

I don't see what Bethesda could offer them at this point. They've made outstanding progress on their own. If anything they're better off without bethesdas help. The modding community as a whole make bethesdas guys look like amateurs.

Let's just hope they managed to finish it within the coming years.

I believe karver is keeping track of their progress. Check in with him.

Yes, I agree that if we handle this right, it could be something that will provide a boost to this site.

I agree! It will likely mean new members, new enthusiasm, and more cool stuff from our community. This site was built on this game, let's not forget that. So at the end of the day, it's hard for me to be mad about any sort of remastered version of the thing we all love.

I wonder if you use Skyrim Project Optimization, it improve performance without actually impacting the game in any bad way, also your laptop must be awful I can run 2k texture packs on mine and it is really not made for running any games beyond Solitaire.

As a PC player, I couldn't care less about a remastered Skyrim when I've already modded the hell out of the original one. As a member of this site, however, I couldn't be more excited as this could easily bring in a new wave of activity that could last for quite a while.
