That's true, but you wouldn't (and shouldn't) need it "always on" - it can be a nice boost for when you need it. Sort of like Fortify Destruction potions. Usually you don't need them, but carrying a few & using them selectively is a good idea.
(Note that I play strictly on Adept.)

Same mechanics can even apply well into Master or even Legendary difficulty depending on the mage skills being used if you only make minor tweaks to gameplay (slower approach, more tactics, that sort of thing).

My wife is a fan of TVD/Originals and has a Klause build she plays, so I'm familiar with the mechanics. I have also seen her do both sides of the Dawngaurd in one playthough. It just depends on what form you shifted into last.
BTW Relycs TONIGHT IS DAS NIGHT!

So if I could somehow back it with lore/roleplay you could get behind it? I have to say I am tempted. Alas it will have to wait my next build will be fixing the College of Winterhold.

The only way I can justify it is if, like in Adventure Quest, a vampire and a werewolf infect you at the same time, more or less. Then there's a a Dracowerepyre, which a Werepyre can become if they drink the blood of a dragon under the light of a full moon
