    The Singing Smith

Hi, This is my second build I'm posting on this site. My first build didn't go over so well, as I made a couple major mistakes. While I don't believe for a moment this will be considered  a great build, as it is only my second, I hope it is acceptable. I chose to create this character because I like bards and speech, and I wanted to introduce a crafting element. Without further ado, the Singing Smith

    Backstory

Many people look at me and wonder how a simple bard ended destined for the chopping block in Helgen. The answer: A mistake. I got caught trying to cross the border into Skyrim, and they thought I was one of those blasted rebels. I say, whoever beat them would be worthy of a good song.  If I somehow escape, I might try my hand at that.  Well, I'd better make peace with my gods, as nobody will ever be able to buy a sword from me again soon, when the Singing Smith sings no more.

    Gameplay

Alright. This character will be using a sword and shield, along with some nice heavy armor. Always try to talk your way out of a fight whenever possible. You will be using your shield as cover as you rush in, shield bash, and go for the kill with the sword.Your follower should be someone who has earned your  trust and is either a blacksmith, bard, or hero. NOT a blade for hire.

Smithing:  This is probably the most important skill RP wise. This will be used to create armor and swords, and also to enhance both. Perks are Steel,Dwarven,Orcish, and Ebony smithing as well as advanced armors.

Speech:  This is the other important RP skill, although it is less so. This is mainly included because I wanted the character to be a bard, but it is also used to sell eccess crafted items better. Perks are haggling 2, bribery, merchant, and persuasion, and intimidation.

Heavy Armor: This skill was chosen so that our character's crafted items actually have value. Not perked much, only using Juggernaut 2 and Well Fitted.

    One Handed:

Block.: Unperked, chosen because we need our shield up as we charge in.

    Other Information

Race:  For this build you have two options:

Nord- Their starting skills fit the build beautifully, and Battle Cry leaves room for you to collect your bearings, which is nice.

Redguard- Skills fit almost as well, and you could always use the extra stamina gotten from Adrenaline Rush for our shield bash/power attacks.

Stone:  Warrior, as most of our skills are combat and you'll want smithing inproving as fast as possible.

    Stats Distribution: 0 Magicka | <1> Health | <4> Stamina.

Equipment: Your gear should be firmly limited to whatever you can craft. I suggest going up from iron armor and sword to steel and so on. Use the skyforge whenever possible.

    Quests/Roleplay

First and foremost, craft all your gear. You should be using that speech skill to get out of tricky situations and to sell all those excess iron daggers. Join the Bards College ASAP and, after that questline, join the Imperial Legion, as you dislike the Stormcloaks. Do not kill anyone on the road other than stormcloaks and people that attack you. Join the companions so that it looks less weird when you go up to the skyforge a lot, but do not become a werewolf.

    Closing Notes

I hope you enjoyed my second build ever, hopefully it looks good. Credit to Noodles for the template, and to Google Images for the pictures. Thanks to all who commented on my last build for helping me hopefully fix my mistakes. Enjoy!

I would slowdown with your builds. While you're probably excited to get your ideas out there, you should take care to write your builds and looks over the guidelines. Playtesting is also super important.

Ok. I am sorry for not doing those things. As you said, I was just excited to get ideas out. I'll take more time in the future.

Look mate some friendly advice, go back to the drawing board, look at the other builds on the site preferably of legendary rank, you will see there are certain criteria which have to be met.

While its good that you are excited to get your builds out there, please slow down a little and always make sure you have all the content that is required to publish a build, ok.

Perk spread, gameplay section, relevant skills, etc.

Just saw this post and thought I could bring my pre-written message, regarding character building with links to all kinds of useful stuff ofc :).

First of all you have to read and understand the Character Building Group Rules. There is everything listed that you need in your build to post it (successfuly) into the building group.
You should also read the Guide to Characterbuilding. Additionaly, you can take inspiration from other builds.
I recommend putting the build into the workshop while you're working on it. To start a new discussion there go to the Workshop and scroll down until you see a button called "Add discussion".
It is important that you title your work properly, like this:
    WiP Characterbuild: ???
Your build must have a gameplay section, so people know how to play it, and a perkspread. Read through some of the builds, if you're having trouble.

You can create your perkspread here and put the link into your build (you can also ask in the Art Goup Services Request Tread for a perkspread with picture). If you need any help with gameplay, -mechanics or something else, you can ask in the Character Building Help Desk or in the Tipps & Tricks Group , respectively.
