Hello everyone this is my first build here on the blog.  After floating around a bit looking at every ones else's builds it inspired me to make my own.  So for this build I will be sharing one of my first builds to play on Skyrim, which is based off the berserkers from Old Norse Folklore.  So without further delay I am proud to present to you...

    The Savage

But before we get straight into the build here is a little history lesson for you (If you really don't want to read this just skip to the actual build).

According to Old Norse mythology during the Viking ages the shaman warriors were divided up into two groups, one of which were the Berserkers, who were known for their savagery in battle.  The word "Berserkir" translates into "Bear Shirts".  The two warrior groups were alike in many ways being the only difference between the two were their totem animals in this case being, as the name says, a bear.  Before someone became a berserker they first had to go through the initiation process that was characterized by a symbolic death and rebirth, which is how the warrior gets his/her powers.  First the candidate had to spend a certain period of time in the wilderness living as their totem animal and learning it's ways.  After that the candidate now ceased to be a normal human and was now a "bear-man" who is more part of the woods than civilization.  When this is done they can put themselves into a kind of trance state of mind letting their beast side take over.  It is said that the when in that trance state of mind they feel no pain, no fear, and are not able to control their rage all the while being indestructible.  Before running into battle they would bite their shields and gnaw on their skin.  When they run into battle they are almost entirely naked except for some animal furs that they wear.  They also yell, howl, and roar when going into war.

    The Build

Race:  For the race there are two good options.  First, there is the Nord for the battle cry ability making your enemies flee in terror.  Second is the Orc for the Berserker Rage ability to deal double damage while taking half damage.

Stone:  For the stone you will want to choose the warrior stone for leveling then the lord stone for resistance.

Attributes:  0/3/1, this build will not be using magicka and also want a good size health pool because of low armor rating.

Major Skills:  One Handed, Two Handed, Block, Light Armor

    Minor Skills:  Alchemy, Smithing

    Gear

Weapons:  Dragon bone Sword, Dragon bone Battle-Axe

Armor:  Full set of Stormcloak officer armor (or at early levels can be substituted with fur, forsworn, or scaled), Targe of the blooded shield.

One-Handed:  The first of our combat skills, this is used for a small group of enemies.

Two-Handed:  The second of our combat skills, this is used for bigger groups of enemies.  Because of the sweep perk we can hit multiple enemies.

Light Armor:  Because of the armor we wear we have a low armor rating so we are maxing out this tree to gain extra armor bonuses.

Block:  Berserkers were know to use many weapons along with the shield, also help with defense do to low armor rating.

Alchemy:  since we are using multiple combat skills we couldn't fortify each one well so we invest in alchemy for damage and armor bonuses.

Smithing:  Once we get to high smithing we are able to craft our most brutal weapons from dragon bones!

                            ^This took me forever^

    Game Play

The Berserker Viking warriors are said to be skilled in many weapons such as battle-axes, sword and shield, spears, and use axes for throwing.  Because there are no spears in skyrim and we can't throw axes when you play as The Savage you have two weapons which are a battle-axe and a Sword paired with a shield.  The sword and shield are used when fighting small groups of foes, such as bandits.  You use the battle-axe when fighting larger groups of enemies.  We do this because in the two-handed skill tree we got the perk "sweep" which allows us to hit multiple enemies in one swing.

Because we wear the stormcloak armor to represent the bear hides that they wear we won't have a very high armor rating, so we also rely on self-brewed potions to increase our armor and can also be used to improve damage output to make up for lack of perks.

    Important Alchemical Properties

The following is a list of ingredients with useful alchemical properties

Fortify Two-Handed:  Dragon's Tongue, Troll Fat, Fly Amanita,  Emperor Parasol Moss.

Fortify One-Handed:  Bear Claws, Canis Root, Hanging Moss, Hawk Feathers, Rock Warbler Egg, Small Pearl.

Fortify Block:  Bleeding Crown, Boar Tusk, Briar Heart, Honeycomb, Pearl, Slaughterfish scales, Tundra Cotton.

Fortify Light Armor:  Ash Hopper Jelly, Beehive Husk, Felsaad Tern Feathers, Hawk Feathers, Honeycomb, Luna Moth Wing, Skeever Tail.

Fortify Smithing:  Blister Wart, Glowing Mushroom, Sabre Cat Tooth, Spriggan Sap

    Shouts

Storm call:  Because The Savage worships the gods he can call upon Thor's aid to help in battle.

Animal Allegiance:  Your Voice Makes animas such as bears fight for you.

Kyne's Peace: Your Voices Makes animals such as bears flee or be calmed.

Dismay:  Shouting with a battle cry make your enemies flee in terror.

Clear Skies:  The Savage  can call upon Baldr's aid to clear the skies.

Elemental Fury:  Using your brute strength allows you to swing your weapon faster than normal men.

Call of Valor:  Using your voice you can call upon other legendary warriors to come to your aid.

    Quests/Groups

The following is a list as good quests to play as this character

Companions:  The companions are really the only humans that you will get along with due to their gift of the wolf, however as I said in the beginning the shaman warriors of the vikings were split into two groups and the berserker's totem animal is a bear while the groups totem animal was a wolf so I didn't become a werewolf however that is optional.

Main Quest:  When The Savage finds out that he is DragonBorn he will continue to unlock his power and slay dragons to prove he really is fearless and indestructible.

DawnGuard:  When there is talk of an evil vampire cult looking to take over the savage join with the DawnGuard to eliminate the threat.

DragonBorn:  When another DragonBorn threatens your life The Savage chooses to continue on his way to kill the one who threatened his life.

StormCloaks:  Not just because the armor we are using is the officer armor but in the mythology Berserkers were faithful to Odin, so in this case we will worship talos.

Thank You everyone for reading this build of mine. Please leave comments below telling me how I did.

Nice presentation. You do have a spelling error where it says gameplay. Interesting use of one and two handed weapons. Good job. Welcome to the Fallout 4 Blog :P

I'm a bit late to the party, but this is a pretty cool build. The Norse folklore fits in well here, and I've always been kind of a sucker for builds that perk One and Two-handed--it makes good roleplay sense here... a Berserker is going to pick up anything he or she can find in order to wallop an enemy.

    Nice work on this :D
