    Hi everybody ,

First of all this my first character build , so please you are welcome to help improve it .

Secondary I’m French so I’m sorry if some grammar structures are not totally correct (yeah as you know French sucks in English) .

Finally maybe the real fan of the “Lord of the Rings” won’t appreciate this build , because I had to make some changes on the real Nazgûl story to adapt it to Skyrim .

Let’s now start the serious things and let me introduce you :

    THE NAZGUL

    STORY :

The Nazgûls were once kings of Humans with Rings of Power. For several centuries, the Kings used their rings according to their own desires. Although these humans lived longer than any other Human, but their form and substance gradually faded with the time. Body and soul totally corrupted by evil, they ceased to be human and became ghosts. They no longer belong to any particular race.

They were dressed in armor and metal helmets completely black. These dark clothing hid their bodies. Anyone looking under their helmets collapse horror.

The Nazgûl had many weapons, among them swords of steel, black maces and daggers .

They also use magic and knew spell which allow them to terrorize their victims even after their death, and the curse of their "Black Breath" chilled the heart of their enemies.

They appear mounted on horses (Black Riders) and winged creatures (For Those Who Have Dragonborn DLC). There are nine Nazgûls named Er-Murazor, Khamûl, Dwar, Ji Indur, Akhôrahil, Hoarmurath, Adûnaphel (female), Ren and Uvatha.

    THE BUILD

    Race :

Nord: The Nazgul were former humans . The dreadful cries of the Nazgûls bloodcurdling the bravest men. Few are those who do not flee facing this terror (= Battlecry ability) .

Dark Elf : More for the physical side of the figure, dark skin and dark eyes remind the darkness of their souls. Moreover their magic (destruction, illusion ...) is higher at the outset. And the “Battlecry” ability can be replace by the “Dismay Shout”.

    Skills :

    - Major : Destruction , illusion , conjuration

    - Minor : Heavy armor , smithing , enchanting , one handed , restauration ,

    Clothes:

    -Enchanted Ebony armor set .

    - Head : Fortify illusion and Fortify conjuration

    - Armor: Fortify destruction and Regenerate Magicka

    - Gauntlets : Fortify magicka and Fortify Heavy Armor

    - Boots : Resist cold (Dark Elf) or Resist Fire (Nordique) and Fortify One Handed

    - Amulet and ring : Regenerate magicka      or    Ring of Namira (see below for more explanations)

    Weapons:

    - One handed sword enchanted with Soul Trap and Frost Damage

    - Mace enchanted with Soul Trap and Frost Damage if you have “Extra Effect” enchanting perk )   PS: ebony is the best (personnal opinion)    or     Mace of Molag Bal (has soul trap ability).

    Standing Stones:

    - Mage Stone : Learn Magic skills faster

    - Warrior Stone : Only used to increase smithing faster

    - Atronach Stone : +50 Magicka , 50% spell absorption , regenate magicka 50% slower will be compensate by enchantements on armor .

    Shouts:

Become Ethereal , Dismay (nice if you choose Dark Elf to compensate Battlecry) , Frost Breath , Ice Form , Soul Tear , Marked for Death .

    Quests :

    - Main quest , College of Winterhorld , The Dark Brotherhood (for shadowmere) , The Black Star , After the quest Chasing Echoes you'll have access to the Soul Cairn (Soul Tear) .

    - Secondary quests : Dawnguard Vampire Clan (Do not become vampire lord , cure vampirism . It’s mainly for the “Dark side” of the quest ) , The House of Horrors (Mace of Molag Bal) .

    - Optional Quest : The Taste of Death … I found that having the Ring of Namira could be also fun for this build. Eat the soul of your victims to increase health and health regeneration .

Statsspread : (Magicka / Health / Stamina for every 5 levels)

I suggest 4/1/0 for the early levels because you will need magicka to do everything (attack , survive …) then 3/2/0 , life still important even with a heavy armor.

The reason why I didn’t use stamina is simple. You are a Nazgûl , feared by everybody . You come here to make your enemy suffer and torture their soul so why would like to go fast ?!! And with your frost spells your enemies will lose all their stamina so you won’t have to run after them.

“You are a Nazgûl , cold as death and dark as darkness.”

    Roleplay :

Killing enemies is one thing. Make them suffer after their death , after inflicting them the fear of their life is another .

The method is simple. Use Your Fear Spell to frighten enemies. Send them your Frost Spell and Frost Shouts to slow them down in their escape (they can’t flee from death) and give them an overview of the coldness of death. Then send your minions (conjuration) in pursuit. The Nazgûl inspire such fear to their minions that they prefer to rush right over a stronger enemy rather than give up. Finally, do not let your enemies die so easily, death would be too soft. Equip your weapon and capture their soul to torture them even after their death. . Moreover , the Deep Freeze ability and Ice Form Shout will totally freeze and paralyze your targets . They will be unable to move, looking at you taking their soul , in a last vision of horror.

The Nazgûl are also known to travel on horses. Use your trusty "Shadowmere" to travel . Let the world understand why you are called “Black Riders”.

Use the distressed souls of your victims to upgrade your weapons and armor (Enchanting).

About Restoration … It’s mainly used at the beginning of the build , that’s why there is not a lot of perk invest . Indeed at the beginning you are a bit weak and may have to use mage robes to help increasing magicka skills . Moreover you won’t have the illusion perk “Master of the Mind” so you will have to use spells like “Turn Lesser Undead” to make undead flee . Healing spells we’ll also help to avoid death at this point .

    Skills (Lvl 60) :

    -          Illusion : Novice , apprentice , adept , expert , master , hypnotic gaza , aspect of terror , animage , kindred mage , quiet casting , master of the mind

    -          Destruction : novice , apprentice , adept , expert , master , augmented frost 2/2 , deep freeze , dual casting , impact

    -          Conjuration : novice , apprentice , adept , expert , master , necromancy , dark souls , twin souls

    -          Enchanting : enchanter 5/5 , insightful enchanter , corpus enchanter , soul squeezer , extra effect

    -          Heavy armor : Juggernaut 4/5 , wett fitted (when reaching higher level: juggernaut 5/5 , tower of strength , matching set , reflect blows)

    -          Restoration : novice , recovery 2/2 (when reaching higher level : apprentice , avoid death , regeneration)

    -          Smithing : steel , dwarven , orcish , ebony , arcane blacksmith (when reaching higher level : daedric)

     -        One Handed : armsman 4/5 , bone breaker 2/3 if using maces or bladesman 2/3 if using swords (when reaching higher level armsman 5/5 , bone breaker / bladesman 3/3)

“Shadow of death and destruction ,in their path the Nazgul sow a trail of silent fear that never leaves them. Where the Nazgul pass , all happiness and joy disappear.”

    POWERS:

    Cries of despair:

= The horrific screams of the Nazgûls bloodcurdling the bravest of men. Few are those who do not flee to face this terror!

Use your Battlecry (Nord) or Dismay Shout to make your ennemies flee . Fear Spells (Fear , Rout , Hysteria) are definitely the illusion spells Nazgûls use .

    - Weather changes (cold, hail, frost, cold winter)

=> The Nazgûl are capable of influencing factors including the weather. However, their power only bring destruction , cold and death!

Use your frost spells : frostbite ,ice spike , froast cloak , ice storm (I love This one) , icy spear , wall of frost , blizzard.

And your shouts : Frost Breath , Ice Form

    - Apparitions

=> The Nazgul are warned necromancers. They can summon spirits on a battlefield. This spirits are tortured souls trapped on earth and they are called to completely confuse their enemies. These souls in distress inflict misfortune to those who cross their path.

Use conjuration spell : raise zombie , reanimate corpse , revenant , dread zombie , morte thrall .

If you have Dawnguard you can also use : conjure boneman , mistman , wrathman .

    - Provisional Shadow

=> With their rings of power, the Nazgul can completely become invisible for a time at least. Therefore they are only shadows, black holes in the middle of the surrounding ... This power has a short duration.

    Use illusion spell : invisibility

    - Black Shadow

= The Nazgûl in their strongest and true form in the world of ghosts.

Use Become Ethereal Shout . It will also permit you to use your strongest spells (blizzard , hysteria…).

Frost cloak can be used while Ethereal , it will continue to drain life and stamina from your enemies.

    Soul Torturer

= Nazgûls torture their ennemies even after death , capturing their soul .

Use your weapoons with Soul Trap and capture the soul of your target. Let them suffer for eternity .

Use Soul Tear Shout also .

“The Nazgûl spread around them a shadow of death that is increasing with time. Only the strong and powerful minds can resist to this evil, and many of those who fought against the Nazgul are dead , even brave and great warriors.”

That's all for the moment , hope you will enjoy this build and like I said you are welcome to help me improve it .

    Thanks for reading ...

Interesting take. You get my like.

Also, why not add Bend Will? You'll be able to ride the Serpentine Dragons.

Yeah I'm totally agree and I really think about it , the thing is I unfortunately don't have the dragonborn DLC (not yet) that's why I prefered not to talk about it for the moment like I never try it .

In addition, why not One Handed? The Nazgul are known for using their One Handed Swords, you know, with the whole "stab and kill Frodo" thing. The Mace from the Witch King can also be replicated with a Mace.

You may also want to look into using Nightingale Hood and Armor and Steel Plate Gauntlets/Boots, that's the closest thing I can think of to the Nazugl Armor Set, so you may wanna take 5 into Light Armor (Nightingale Armor/Hood is Light)

Interesting build but Special Powers are just instructions to cast a spell.

This is more a personnal choice . I've tried this character with a more "one handed side" , and I think I prefer magicka . The combos you can do combining fear and ice are really fun . That's why said that the real fan of the “Lord of the Rings” won’t appreciate this build , because I made some changes on the original Nazgul story .

After I'm level 54 so why not increasing one handed when I'll have a higher level .... I'll think about it .

You could also use black robes(not hooded) + steel plated gauntlets/boots + nightingale hood. Could look kinda cool...

I know that's why I don't put "SPECIAL MOVE" as title but "POWERS" . The thing is there is so many combos you can do with all spells you have that it would be too long to list them all .

Nice take on the Nazgul +1

I agree about one-handed should be added, you use the weapons and the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Nazgul is them stabbing Froddo with a sword.

Ok I take note . Actually I was thinking the opposite : giving differents options to the reader like that they can "adapt" the build as they want . After the powers and goals remains the same . The thing I changed was principaly weapons , normal or bound ...
