I'm afraid so yes, but to me, its not a major issue.

I just started giving this a go the other day.  Around level 10 or 11 now and its been fun.  Definitely a nice  change of pace from my Argonian warrior that went skull bashing with his mace directly.

Oh that. It only happens while you enter the Dreamstride so other than making saves theres nothing that can be done at this time.

i used a mercenary until level 40 then went to the Housecarl for Riften, Iona I think. I personally preferred to equip them with heavy armor and 1hand weapon/shield. I had one of the dogs from dawnguard but he unfortunately bit the dust. 

it was only her bc I lived in Riften

I really like this build.

Its jacked up how the only way to get a wreath in skyrim is doing DB or mods of course.
