    THE CRUSADER OF THE NINE:

    Back-story:

In the Great War the imperials were losing. They had lost the imperial city and had no one to turn to. Except for the Knights of the nine. The imperial legion took the best of the best; they were even given their own armor. You were one of these men. You even had your own troops to command. You were the greatest, until the ambush. You were in the thick forests of Cyrodil, you and your men staying alert until they were going to get to the camp outside of the imperial city. Everything was going to plan, until some Thalmor Justiciars came out from behind. Killing the back troops in seconds. From a simple movement to a full out blown battlefield, you got out your divine mace and started clobbering the Thalmor you took out at least half a dozen Justiciars... until the Thalmor mage came from the back and stabbed you through the back and stabbed you across your face. The Thalmor left, having succeeded they let you to die in your own blood. You were passing out from the blood loss until you prayed to Mara. The last thing you saw was some legionnaires come but instead of taking you to heal your wounds they just took the armory and stock with them and leave.

You woke up later fully healed, you swear it was Mara herself that healed you. You walk to the nearby town and stay there for a while. A few months passed and you regain your strength and you made a promise to Mara that you would destroy the imperial legion.

    Now:

After many years after the war you have still kept your promise and have been boycotting imperial shipments and caravans. You are the most wanted man by the imperial legion and Thalmor. You hear about your homeland Skyrim being under civil war. You decide that you want to be apart of the civil war, not by being part of the Stormcloaks or imperial legion but by being the third party. _______________________________

    Build:

    Race:  Any

    Weapons: Steel Mace

Armor:  Steel plated armor chest, gauntlets and boots and imperial helmet close. (The reason for the imperial helmet is because it was your old one that you wore on the day of the ambush and you also wear it to cover your huge, disfiguring scar.)

    Stone: Lover-Lord

    Ratios: M/H/S-2/2/3

    Gameplay:

The Crusader Build has a few points of gameplay that makes this build fun to play for a whole play through. The first unique thing about this build is that the Crusader seeks not to destroy necromancy (like Ponty’s Paladin) but to destroy the ruling powers of Skyrim that taint the land of Skyrim. When going out adventuring and you stumble into an Imperial or stormcloak camp you get out your steel divine mace while on your horse and start clobbering and striking at all the soldiers. At the end, when there is only the legate or main officer, bash them up until they are unable to fight then leave with your white Stallion so the officer can send the message of your presence. The second fun thing with this play through is that due to your scars you have quite a bit of permanent exhaustion, and what is the best way to rest when you are exhausted… drink mead. The Crusader is a full blown mead addict, when things get tough he drinks his mead (almost like Popeye [LOL]). This may lead to some problems with the law. The reason is simply because everyday life is hard for the Crusader since the ambush, so he needs meed to dull the pain. Another thing the Crusader does is that he does not use potions. The Crusader doesn't believe in the sciences of potions and poisons and only trusts in the magical healing powers of the divines. The Crusader, since he still stays with some of his values he will destroy daedra and daedra worshippers as is the code of the Nine. Concerning combat the Crusader will always fight on horse back when able to as this is the way of fighting he was taught and the way he will keep on fighting with.

    Role-play:

The Role-play of this build is pretty basic, don’t kill citizens, be charismatic and don’t ever support the Stormcloaks or Imperials. You must also protect the Citizens so lets say if their is a thief you get out your mace but you aren't clean so you beat him to a pulp but then heal him and do this again and again laughing at his misery. One last thing for the Role-play is that the Crusader, since he was first recruited as a knight of nine, was taught to never to kill stealthily and to never assassinate. This means that when in a bandit camp you shouldn’t kill a bandit with your bow half a kilometer away or slit the throat of the unaware bandit eating his lunch. Or if you want to make the Crusader go on a different path you could be like “That applied to me when I was a Knight… yes, when I was a knight” this could mean your go and kill the bandits slitting their throats then dumping the dead bodies to make the bandits paranoid and then brutally kill the last bandit. You do this path if the ambush changed you and you morals.

    WEAPONS AND ARMOR:

The crusader has a well enchanted gear set due to the blessing given upon him during his days as a Knight of the Nine. The helmet of the Crusader is enchanted with the blessing of mara, fortify restoration, because the crusader is meant to bring health to the civilians he sees. For the Crusader's Cuirass it has the blessing of the god of life and death, Arkay, which gives the Crusader the ability to reduce his chance of death by poison or disease so he can help and save the people of the land from those who wish to destroy them. The Magical Gauntlets of the Divine Crusader comes from the god of war, Kratos wait I mean Talos. These gauntlets enhances the Crusader's ability to fight in battle with both melee and ranged attacks. The Boots in this armor set are from Zenithar, the god of work, they fortify the endurance of the Crusader so that he may complete the work of the divines and fulfill his revenge without becoming fatigue. The enchantment on the shield of the Crusader is in fact not a blessing but a mere enchantment that the he put on for his survival. The knowledge granted from the ring comes from Julianos, the god of wisdom and logic, he gave him the ability to use the power of magic without using so much of his reserves. The weaponry of the  Crusader was given to him so that he may go around Tamriel and burn the wicked and banish the abominations from out of this realm.

I would like to thank RAL REZEK for the knightly cartoon photos and Ponty for the screenshots. without them this build would look pretty bad.

First off, I like that you attempted to place a real warrior of baddassery into skyrim and for having the balls to attempt it I will give you a like. However, I have a few complaints:

    1. Knights did not use bow an arrows. There was no chivalry in fighting/ killing the enemy from a distance.

    2. The Crusader Knight would charge in on his Stallion knocking people over with his long sword, circle around, do it again, then finally dismount, pull out either a sword or mace and continue to kill people from there.

    3. That name of the person does not fit the role play you are telling us to go on. Crusader implies he is still fighting for that cause. In your case, the character is not. So maybe changing the name to a Fallen Crusader or something along those lines would make more sense. I got super excited when I had first seen the title but then was let down when I was not fighting for either side.

    What I did like:

    1. Protecting the people. Excellent. That ties in the Three Orders that those who pray and those who fight protect those who till the land (citizens). Wonderful that pretty much gave you the like right there. So maybe go into as far as quests go to help citizens with all their troubles?

    2. The MEAD! The Germanic and Frankish Crusader society loved to sit by the camp fire or in taverns to tell war stories of how they pillaged and plundered the land and to get ridiculously drunk.  Excellent!

    Maybes:

    1. The shield was the Crusaders best defense and own undoing. The shield was only important during the first and second crusade. What enemies found out was because the shield is attached to the forearm, grab the shield and throw them onto the ground and proceed to beat the living $hit out of the crusader until he is dead. You can pull the "it's a game" card which I will support, but the shield was done away with less than 100 years after the first Crusade.

    2. Destruction. Again you can pull the game card, but the Fighting Monks didn't really like the aspect of Magic. Gilles De Ralles for example if you want to look him up.

    3. Aedra and Deadra. I know there is no Xtianity on here, but maybe picking a Divine, swearing allegiance and proceed to help and destroy all Deadra?

    4. Change the name of the Character. I beg of you! Keep Crusader, but add something else.

So overall I really like the concept. It seemed incomplete like Creedman said. That is just my advice. Take it or leave it.

thanks a lot will change it in a few days when i can think of a better name and such.

    thanks again.

  • December 5, 2012

David you don't need to change the name, I removed my crusader character from the blog months ago (it was my second build and a poor one)!

    +1

Those perk spreads are nice, maybe re-think using white text on a bright background though, its a little difficult to read!

i thought that too but i found that a black one was also pretty hard to read.

p.s do you like the name or do you think i should change it, looking for opinions.
