Gotta start off with the reference, don't I? Yeah, feel like it's kinda going to be a requirement for me to take this less seriously so I don't cop out and run back into a corner. Right, so if the title doesn't spell it out for you, I'm going to be officially leaving the Workshop as of, now...yep, technically shouldn't have been hosting it for the last 16 hours by my own rules, but you know, ah...I felt like putting a fair amount of effort into this message.

So, let me start off by saying that...I'm still going to be around, almost constantly, and really my activity and day-to-day comments aren't going to change at all. What will change is that I won't be going around deleting WiP's (and ah...man maybe I shouldn't have left that mess of builds from a year ago for the next Hosts to deal with...Eh, they'll live), I won't be editing things for people if need be (sorry Chris, no more GDoc's being transferred) and I won't be running Events. I think I do some other things, but that's the gist of it. 

Now, why am I leaving? Well, that's a tricky question, and it's even trickier for me to say it in a way that isn't instantly bad. I do still generally love hosting the Workshop, it's still my favorite place to be but...Well, I've hit that point where I don't think there's anything new I can do as a Host, and having someone else take the reigns and lead the group in a new direction is an interesting prospect. Just the idea of something that I hadn't even thought of being done here is a really exciting one.

Right, so who's following me up? Who's going to be the next Workshop Host? Eh, I'll keep that a secret, for now, don't want to spoil a surprise and it'll give him, her or them the opportunity to give their own little intro.

So yeah. Thanks to everyone who's been a member of the Workshop for any length of time, those that are just posting their first builds, maybe those who are on their 20th (not sure if anyone is but you know). I've had an absolute blast hosting this group until now, and I can't wait to see what comes next :D

Deebs, you've been one helluvah Host in the Workshop. A Paladin of WiPs. Your consistent support and belief in that Group since it was first created so long ago has made a huge impact on everyone, and your influence and support of content in progress has shaped more completed creativity than I think anyone can quantify. It's a huge relief to know that you will still be around and being Deebs (as if I didn't know and count on that already :))

I don't think anyone can claim to have done so much for one group as you, Deebs. You've turned the Workshop into not an option, but an essential part of posting anything on the site thanks to your watchful eye and ever-flowing words of wisdom. Can't really think of any more eloquent ways to compliment how incredibly awesome you've been as host, so imma just reiterate what Phil said: Thanks, from everyone who's ever posted anything in the Workshop.

I think 'Paladin of WiP' sums your tenure rather nicely--it implies a near religious devotion and saintly dedication to a cause. I don't know if everybody truly appreciates the time you've thrown into the workshop. It's difficult to consistently look at every new build or write-up that comes through, and THEN find thoughtful insights into what's working for it and what could further improve it. That's a hard thing to be consistent in, and you've done it for years... thank you!

Deebs! I will miss you as host, but you are not going anywhere, as you say, just going in a different direction, so nothing really will change. 

Look forward to seeing what you do with your spare time. :D

Aww man, I was going to do a whole 'reply to everyone' thingy but it probably won't work. My words aren't working and the only things I could really think of to say are...

"Sweet, Paladin Deebs huh. Shame I haven't learned Smite Evil yet"

"Spare time...probably more or less the same :P"

"Eh, I don't really like the Workshop being essential, very useful and stunningly awesome to use, sure, but essential is a bit strange. I'm a huge fan of people just up and posting builds, and when you get a really sweet one (I think Soly posted one without using the Workshop) it's a great feeling. Anyway, this section is now longer than I ever wanted so...."

Anyway. Thanks everyone for the support, both now and to those that are long-time members who have posted content, helped out with other people's work...freaking won events by a landslide of hundreds of points because he commented so much on builds that he even possibly beat Sotek who posted like... 6 normal-length stories (that last one is pretty general :P). All of it does really mean a lot to me, but mostly I have to thank the people who've kept using the Workshop over the years, gave me something to do, something that made it feel like I was really helping out around here

Now...I've got 4 builds to work on, so goodbye :D
