Depending on the belief (Aldmer or Altmer) Auri-El's time was one of two periods. If Auri-El is Ancestor-God of the Aldmer his time was the Merethic Era onwards, but the Altmer would have him at the start of time, or sometime during the Dawn Age (I suppose, could be before for all I know).
The Dawn Age is a period of non-linear time, so essentially a Dragon Break, so in that sense it is possible that Auri-El's time was simply a constant Dragon Break, depending on the belief system your basing it off.

Great work DB, MATTOMPHI think this is a great addition to the Archives here in Apocrypha We'll fix your tags for you too.
The answer there is currently unknown, as is whether Akatosh was actually a god beforehand.
Apparently he can be interpreted as such if you take this passage from Shezarr and the Divines: "Akatosh was an Aldmeri god, and Alessia's subjects were as-yet unwilling to renounce their worship of the Elven pantheon." Yet that might just be an editorial decision to shorten what could be a really convoluted sentence. We don't know for sure what the author meant so it could be fun to imagine an Aldmeri religion with both Auriel and Akatosh in it

I suspect they were in fact worshipping Auri-El, but Alessian guys came up with another name for him to stop the Nords' butthurt))) Kinda, see, guys, we aren't worshipping Auri-El nor Alduin, it's our own god Akatosh))

I have a feeling that the time he ascended was the end of the Dawn Era and the beginning of the Merethic, correct me if I'm mistaken. As to whether he was an ancestor of the Aldmer or a god from the beginning of time, why couldn't he be both?
