Seeing that no one has invented a printer that hooks up directly to the brain...
When you imagine your characters, journeys, stories, etc., what are they like in your mind?
Lately, after seeing the most recent ESO trailer, I've starting imagining scenes from my story in a similar, animated style. Of course, I've always done this sort of thing - what I see in my head is translated into writing. And I daydream a lot. Probably more than most healthy human beings. But sometimes I wish I could just make a movie or something from the sheer will of my imagination.
Can anyone else relate?
They are like ones I make in my games Overall, I don't have a clear vision of a character when, say, reading a book. From description I form an image in my brain which gets blurred once I move on but each time when that character converses with someone I imagine how his prominent features behave etc. - the vision becomes more clear. Same with writing fictional characters
Depends on the situation, I have a tendency to picture fight scenes in an animated perspective, while talking and more intimate stuff it's usually film noire quality.
I can definitely relate to the daydreaming. I usually get lost in thought in the middle of class (math and physics, I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it) and while jogging. Most of my idea and come from these moments... Now that I think about it, after I started writing The Outsider I think of stuff for it all the godamm time, showering, walking, watching stuff and even playing video games. The only activities I can actually pay attention to without thinking about this stuff is sometimes during class (since I do have to keep at least average grades) and playing tennis (still talk to myself during this one, but mostly cursing myself for missing that point and then telling my "alter ego" to shut the fuck up)
I always imagine my characters animated as well (I write sometimes, outside of this blog so my friends can read what I have and give me tips. Most of my friends don't play Skyrim and don't know about this blog so I just stick to pencil and paper. :P). They're always animated in an art style that I'd really like to draw in. I daydream a lot in class, and those daydreams are usually put on paper.
A mix of as if I was living it and cinema-graphic style 3rd person, but both with smell-o-vision and kinetic-o-feel! Great thing about your mind is you can simulate all the senses. That said, I have trouble holding all that info clearly in my head and secondary things tend to blur. I think the ultimate form of entertainment would be if you could package and sell dreams.
Well, I'd say my go to Fantasy Character can be described as the Teacher of some Obscure College or High school Class. He has a villainous pointy beard, Some form of close to the head ponytail, an Orange Mage Robe, Boots like these, and simple dark green Jewelry. I image him in some form of uptight, snobbish pose though he is neither or holding up his hands in protest trying to calm something down with a Charlie Brown-like Worried look on his face, squiggly mouth and all.
I'll leave this here. sometimes it's like that.
