Also, I don't disagree with what you say about establishing a consistent layout/aesthetic/header/etc. (i.e., brand), but that's not really an argument against change. Why keep the same brand if people feel it is outdated or tacky or whatever else? Better to find something that as many people as possible can get behind for the long haul.
