    Suddenly, Sheogorath!

:D Huh? Huh? Didn't see that coming, did you? I did enjoy this quest and agree that sometimes breaking sequence is the best way. Sometimes.

The persuade skill buried in the Mages line always irks me. To be into lore and well-spoken means you're magically inclined by default? Get outta here, I hate magic! Gimme armour and a big effing sword.

Love the bondage shot at the end, very erotic :D

Anything involving Sheogorath is equal parts hilarious and rather frightening. As for the Persuasion perk, I figure the Mages Guild offers some lessons to members or something to make them more persuasive. Finally, I laughed myself silly when the prisoners ran away whilen still tied up.

Welp, good news: Rahzam has finally reached the capital of the Aldmeri Dominion, Elden Root! Moreover, since I got Skyrim Special Edition (yaaaaas), I got a nifty Dragon Warrior costume and Yokudan Charger mount!

Much majestic, very awe-inspiring, so dramatic, wow.

Of course, my first order of business was not following Queen Ayrenn's mission to talk to the Bosmer king, no sir. No, I went to the Undaunted Enclave. There's one in every captial; Elden Root, Mournhold and Wayrest all have one. This is basically their HQ, and they offer unique Group Dungeon missions and rewards. But I went there to have a drink with them. Surprisingly, the person requesting the drink is the same as in Vulkhel Guard; this is the only time this happens.

"Hey, let's get totally wasted on jagga and hump the trees! That'll piss off the Bosmer." -Rahzam-do

Also, within the city (which is mostly inside the Elden Root tree, which is epic), you'll find a few familiar folk from Khenarthi's Roost.

One step closer to becoming a Sith Lord...

When you finally go and talk to the king, you discover he's a marvelously funny monarch; fitting, perhaps, considering he's king of possibly the biggest jokesters on Tamriel.

Who needs a royal jester when you are the royal jester?

Unfortunately, Prince Naemon is very, very angry about you going and killing his wife, Estre, despite knowing it was necessary. So he treats you like utter crap. Still, can't really blame the poor prince... Anyhoo, he sends you to Ambassador Tarinwe to figure out why in Syrabane's undergarments she hasn't gotten around to building the Khajiit their embassy (which the cat-folk are rightfully pissed about). She gives you some cheap excuses, tells you to check the warehouse, and promptly runs off. But when you go to the warehouse, the guard tells you he needs written permission, which the Ambassador didn't provide. Bitch. Of course, you can Intimidate the guard to let you in anyways.

    Prepare your anus.

Then, go find the masons who were hired to build the thing... Only, they're dead. Bummer. The Vinedusk Ranger (kind of a Bosmeri spy sort) who you may have talked to at the court teams up to find Tarinwe, who is proooobably with the Heritance. Proving that just because you whack their leader, terrorist cultists don't magically dissapear. To find her, we need to go to the Middens, which is a dump where the poor people live. Most of them are on drugs, and some of the dialogue is great.

    Bruh.

From here on out, it's a typical Elder Scrolls quest; murder your way through the Heritance soldiers, murder Tarinwe's lackeys. Then, the Ranger apprehends the Ambassador, and tells you to head back to the king. He remains delightfully amusing.

After the quest is done, we get a triple objective that will hang over the rest of our Grahtwood travels. To operate the Orrery, a magical doohickey Ayrenn wants to use for a ceremony, we need a legendary artifact of the thief god Rajhin, a mythical Ayleid power source, and a certain old lady we've already helped at Southpoint. Eh, not the craziest thing in Elder Scrolls, really.

I also got some new decor for Rahzam's pad.

All hail the Lord of Catnip!

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

After completion of the prior Main Quest, you'll see a little Banekin pop up, telling you to go to your local Alliance city's Mages Guild (Vulkhel Guard, Davon's Watch or Daggerfall, specifically) to meet up with a certain Chancellor of Nibenay. Yep, it's Abnur Tharn, complete with a nifty Guild outfit.

    Abbie! :D

Now, as Abnur tells you, we need to find out where Manny has taken Sai Sahan. To do this, you need to head to a dungeon; depending on your Alliance, it'll either be in Grahtwood, Deshaan or Stormhaven. Since we're AD, it's in Grahtwood, specifically a place called Wormroot Depths. Since this is kinda important, Rahzam set out at once from Elden Root. Unfortunately, it's kind of a long way to the place, and we got distracted by a Dolmen. These are where the Dark Anchors of Molly B. drop, trying to merge Nirn with Coldharbour, and is generally a chance for a good fight with good loot.

... Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin' dirty...

But, near the tail end, Molly B. sent a doozy of a boss: one of his generals. Actually, one of the most prominent, dangerous generals: a Daedric Titan named Ozozzachar, who Molly apparently considers his son. Daedric Titans are what happened when Molly got a dragon prisoner and installed some new software onto its' body, making a bipedal, spiky and even more hideously dangerous monstrosity. And Ozozzachar? He's tougher than the average Titan, and seeing as how the Dolmen was kinda remote, I had to face him alone.

    "Oh, shit." -Rahzam-do

I did eventually manage to send the thing back to Oblivion, but Rahzam did die in the process, which was annoying because I had no Soul Gems and therefore had to ride back from the Wayshrine. (Thanks, Cyrodiil.) Still, felt good when I whacked him. Once that was settled, I was off to finally go to Wormroot Depths.

Once there, it's pretty much a standard dungeon crawl, with the added objective of finding all the glowy rocks to find out where Sai's being held. Abnur does follow you around, and he really tries to help, but mostly, it's just you and whoever else stumbles on the dungeon, quest or otherwise. Eventually, you learn he's being held in the Halls of Torment, which is surely a pleasant island retreat full of beer and strippers. Why are we rescuing him, again? Oh right, Amulet of Kings and all that crap... Anyhoo, go to the Prophet to complete the quest and get monies.

Also, I got to level 26, meaning new equipment! I combined High Elf and Khajiit armor with Imperial weaponry and some dyes for a truly snazzy look.

Rahzam gets all the lady cats with this armor.

Fnally, what death is complete without a tombstone? Not a good one, at any rate.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

Continuing with our Queen-given mission, Rahzam headed to the Reliquary of Stars, which is basically an Ayleid ruin where the mer that made the Orrery hid his heart. Proooobably not literally, though knowing Elder Scrolls it is possible. Anyhoo, we need this heart to power the Orrery, so we're off to find it! There, meet up with Laranalda, who tells you about the place and then asks that you rescue her assistants, because of course nothing is ever simple. Anyhoo, there's two, and you can rescue them in any order. I headed to the Gardens of Flesh first.

Not ominous at all, no sir.

There, go chat with the creepy Dremora, who was apparently responsible for preserving the archives... Until she decided to preserve the Ayleids themselves as well. Go find the Dunmer assistant's soul, and free him. Once that's done, you need to find the other assistant, a rather chipper Bosmer dude who was captured by Watchers.

    Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

Go and whack a Watcher to nab it's eye (ew), then free Behelir and head back to Lara. She fears the Dunmer has been possessed by the creepy Dremora, and sends you and Behelir to find the Heart while she runs some tests.

Unfortunately, upon finding the Heart, things start to go badly.

    Dun dun duuuuuun

Yeah, it turns out Behelir was the one possessed by the Daedra! Go and chase him/it down, and watch as the Daedra restores her body with the Heart. Grab said gem, then go and fight her. This fight can be quite difficult; not only does the Dremora hit hard and have a lot of health, you'll occasionally need to siphon away her essence with the gem. Once she's been banished, just go back to Lara and turn in the gem, and get monies! And of course, she'll bring the gem to Ayrenn for her ceremony, so that's nice too.

I then went back to Elden Root, and found a merchant with some of the best dialogue in the game.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

While aimlessly running about Grahtwood, I came across the town of Cormount. Cormount is where a movement called the Blacksap Rebellion started, trying to overthrow the current king. Though initially I just assumed my default stance of "eh, whatever", we do learn they have good reason for this. By Bosmer standards, at least. Anyhoo, upon arrival, you'll see a mer pop out of a portal, asking you to follow him. Normal folk would turn tail and flee to the forest, but since when has Rahzam been normal?

    "Sounds legit." -Rahzam-do

Turns out, Forinor is a Vinedusk Ranger, who wants you to help his boss deal with the remnants of the Rebellion. See, a certain General Endare (a figure mentioned throughout Grahtwood; we see her in person later) led her Jade Dragoons in a battle to win the Wood Elves' support for the Dominion. Well, when I say battle, I really mean slaughter, from all accounts; no wonder the Bosmer are pissed. The Vinedusk dudes want to capture the remaining Rebellion leaders, the sons of the wannabe king that organized the whole shebang. Shockingly, he's smart enough to know that his sons should be captured rather than killed. He also claims the Vinedusk are exempt from the Green Pact; they later verify this themselves.

Sounds like the root of your problems! Huehuehue.

The Rangers send you to the local Treethane (basically a town mayor), who happens to be affiliated with the Vinedusk. It's at this point that the Cormount objective becomes a spy movie. See, Iirdel tells you the seeeeeecret method of contacting the leaders: you have to read her journal for the phrases, then go talk to one of the identified rebels. You need to know the color of the special flame they've got (look near the inn) and the weather. Yeah, I'm serious; finally, a puzzle that's at least interesting. Also, try not to get the phrases wrong, it doesn't end well.

"No, wait! This one is a terrible source of vitamins and minerals!" -Rahzam-do

When you do get it right, find the Treethane and then go hunt down Lorchon the spymaster. Slaughter your way through his forces, and discover that he, too, is very smart. He realizes that, having killed his men, he'll go down too, and that combined with how you know his father's location means he turns himself in, giving the location of his bro while he's at it.

Then, slaughter your merry way through the other brother's hideout. Interestingly, he's called Gorinir, which means that he was the original owner of the Goronir Estate, the large Bosmer house. Anyhoo, in the process of apprehending him, he tells you of the Blacksap's endgame: Use magical constructs to kill the Dominion forces in the area! Go and help out, though really the soldiers seem to do just fine anyhow. Clearly, Endare only accepts the best.

Finally, head back to the seeeeecret Vinedusk hideout, where you can do the Blacksap a favor and convince the Rangers to at least give them a fair trial.

    OBJECTION!

Having done that, I took a little tour around town. Most are quite angry at the sudden dissapearance of the Blacksap leadership. Most.

    Relatable, am I right?

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

Wow, I had a fair bit to catch up on. Abbie and Molly and Endare and unfortunately it got rangery pretty quickly, but not objectionably nor angrily but rather relatably, as it turns out.

Thanks, Paws! What do you mean with 'rangery', though? :P
